 I helped raise a Corgi (from age 1-4) in my last relationship. Not only are they adorable, they are very smart and easy to train. They are also big lovers, very loyal and the one I owned got along well with other dogs and children.

 I love the personality of a pembroke, they are vivacious and charming with a ton of sass on the side. My current corgi is the love of my life and I also rescued her. I’d love to give another home to a fur baby in need.

 I had a friend in high school who had one and I really enjoyed playing with it. It was smart, trainable, and had just the right mix of size and energy. That’s the only experience we have with a Corgi. We have done some research on the Corgi and know a little bit about their temperament.

I went to the dog park with my dog Teddy and my mom. Three little dogs were playing in the puppy area. We decided to go in to take a closer look. I remember a small, furry little creature ran over to me and tackled me with licks and kisses. I felt so happy. We played together for almost a half hour and I could not stop laughing. My heart felt so full of love. I went home and I couldn't stop thinking about that good feeling. A few weeks later, on Christmas, my grandfather got me a stuffed corgi as a present. I named her Clementine, and I have taken the best care of her ever since. She sleeps with me every night. I have checked out many books on corgis from the library as well as researched about them on the internet with my parents supervision. I have even read a graphic novel series called "Korgi" which is super cool!

 I would take them on walks all around my neighborhood. If they liked it, I would also take them to the dog park (there are a few close by in my neighborhood!). I would play fetch with them and make sure that they feel comfortable at all times. I would make sure that they feel safe in our house.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Corgis have always been a huge part of my (Rachel's) life. I grew up with two Corgis (one Pembroke and one Cardigan) from junior high through graduate school. They may have lived at my parents' house, but I was actively involved in their care and development, including taking one of them through obedience classes and basic agility training. My parents and I did extensive research before finding our Corgis by reading books and reputable websites, speaking with family friends who are dog breeders, and attending local dog shows.

 We would do much of the same activities Rachel did with her dogs: play in the backyard, go for walks, run in the park, provide toys that exercise the mind, relax on the couch, and love on them often (unless they dislike being cuddled, in which case we would absolutely give them the space they need; one of Rachel's dogs was not a cuddler, so she has some experience).

There are flowers, short bushes, and rocks lining the driveway and a stone flowerbed on the front of the house. The backyard is fenced (see description on p. 6) and has medium-height bushes along the back of the house. There is a shed and rocky/gravel area in one corner and an air conditioner unit (fenced off) in the other corner. Who is this dog for?

 For both me and my significant other, Brandon. We are looking to add another family member. We have a 1 year old Pembroke named Callie who would love a sibling to play with.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have loved the corgi breed for years, I originally fell in love with their bread loaf butts! I like that they are playful and protecting, my 1 year old corgi "protected" me from another dog at the park by our house chasing the dog in a circle around me, not letting the other dog get close. Even though that dog was not a threat and just wanted to play and get attention. My experiences with my corgi have been really good, she is very smart, was potty trained within few days of bringing her home, training her has been very easy, she is too smart for her own good. We did do research on this breed and have learned from many other corgi owners what to expect before we got our own little girl

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We play fetch and tug with our current corgi, we recently got her a fetch machine that we are training her to use so when we are not home or are busy with housework, she can keep herself entertained for a short while. We live close to a park so we will take them to play fetch, go on walks, and we also have a few strategy treat puzzles to keep them stimulated.

 Both my significant other and I work first shift but he comes home for his lunch break so he is able to let the dogs out to go potty and give them attention and play time before having to head back into work. Our current dog is in her kennel for about 7 hours a day with that 1 hour break in the afternoon.

 Our current corgi eats her meals in the dining room so that is where we would have our adopted corgi eat

Where would dog sleep:
 Our adopted corgi would sleep in our bedroom with us and our other corgi

Play & exercise:
 We play fetch throughout the evening when I come home from work, on weekends depending on weather we go on walks, we have an automated fetch machine that will allow them to keep busy when I am cooking or doing some housework. The adopted corgi will also have a sibling to play with.
