Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
I believe that rewarding good behavior is more important that drawing attention to bad behavior. If the Pembroke makes a mistake it is probably because he/she is either still learning or seeking attention. Instead of getting mad about a potty accident (or whatever the mistake may be), my first instinct would be to make sure he/she feels okay (not sick or injured), if not, then I would give them some one on one time and make sure they know they are loved and given the attention they desire.
Discipline: |
This will be my husband's and my first dog so we will be learning, but I think we like the idea of not drawing attention to bad behavior, but rather rewarding good behavior.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
He/She would spend most of the time in our 2 bedroom, ground floor apartment. I do not believe in crating dogs, so he/she would be alone for about 5 hours Monday-Thursday, otherwise he/she would be under my direct supervision. Occasional trips to grandma's house where there are two cats.

Current pets dog friendly? |
|||||||
Are you willing to work on it if your new dog doesn’t get along with your current pets right away? |
First, I don't know if our bunny is or is not friendly toward dogs because he has not been introduced to a dog before. He has been introduced to cats and he was mildly curious, but mostly disinterested. He is a skittish bunny, so I think that I will have to do a good amount of training between the Pembroke and the bunny so that they will learn to respect each other's space.

Yes, I am willing to commit to this dog for the rest of its life.
