Why do you want a Pembroke?	1) They are soooo cute! (Obviously) 2) They are a good size and energy level for apartment living 3) Intelligent and trainable 4) Will enjoy walks and playing in the local dog park 5) Friendly with strangers (not typically aggressive or scared) 6) Enjoys attention and will give affection in return
Activities planned with Pembroke:	Daily walks, local dog park, trips to Lake Michigan (only 40 min drive), trips to visit grandma in Flint

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:	I believe that rewarding good behavior is more important that drawing attention to bad behavior. If the Pembroke makes a mistake it is probably because he/she is either still learning or seeking attention. Instead of getting mad about a potty accident (or whatever the mistake may be), my first instinct would be to make sure he/she feels okay (not sick or injured), if not, then I would give them some one on one time and make sure they know they are loved and given the attention they desire.
Discipline:	This will be my husband's and my first dog so we will be learning, but I think we like the idea of not drawing attention to bad behavior, but rather rewarding good behavior.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:	He/She would spend most of the time in our 2 bedroom, ground floor apartment. I do not believe in crating dogs, so he/she would be alone for about 5 hours Monday-Thursday, otherwise he/she would be under my direct supervision. Occasional trips to grandma's house where there are two cats.

Are you willing to work on it if your new dog doesn’t get along with your current pets right away?	First, I don't know if our bunny is or is not friendly toward dogs because he has not been introduced to a dog before. He has been introduced to cats and he was mildly curious, but mostly disinterested. He is a skittish bunny, so I think that I will have to do a good amount of training between the Pembroke and the bunny so that they will learn to respect each other's space.
Lifetime commitment to Pembroke?	Yes, I am willing to commit to this dog for the rest of its life.
Return to Lakeshore if unable to care for Pembroke?	Yes, I will only surrender my adopted corgi to LPWCR if I am unable to care for it.
