Who is this dog for?

Me!

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I have friends who own corgis and I absolutely love the amount of intelligence and personality they have. Each one is very unique and certainly an individual. They tend to herd which I have experienced with my previous dog. I love the size of them, and I think the breed is a good fit for me activity wise.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
I live right behind an extensive walking/running/biking path called the Monon Trail. I also am less than a mile from a dog friendly park, dog daycare, groomer, veterinarian and dog bakery. We would make A LOT of friends!

Vet contact info:

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
I would try to figure out why the dog made the decision it did, and what factors in the environment could be the cause. I would consider if the dog is getting enough one-on-one time, or exercise and see if that could be a reason for the behavior.

Discipline:
I believe in firmly saying "no" with hand gestures, and then placing the dog in it's kennel for a short time out for them to understand that what they did was not acceptable.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
By my side! I work from home at least one day a week, and my office is only 20 minutes from the house. I would come home during lunch to let them out, and spend all weekends and evenings with the dog.

My roommate Andrew also lives in my house.

Where would dog eat?
I would place his bowls either in the kitchen, or the dining room.

Where would dog sleep:
I would prefer the corgi to sleep in bed with me, but if they don't like that they are free to stay in their kennel, or take the couch.

Play & exercise:
I have a lot of neighbor dogs, as well as a doggy daycare very close to my home. Along with runs down the monon trail and visits to the park I think my dog has a plethora of options.
