Why do you want a Pembroke?
We love their personalities, and their energetic nature. We would like to have a dog that wants to play but also likes to cuddle. We've also read that corgis are very smart, which is awesome. Plus they're just so cute!

Go on walks/hikes, play with a ball in our big backyard, play with toys inside.

Use one of the discipline methods below as long as it is immediate. The dog needs to see the relationship to the bad behavior and the consequence. We would never hit an animal or withhold food. We would also forgive the dog after a short time.

Use a firm voice and say "no," don't give the dog attention for a few minutes, take away something they want, etc. Whatever method is chosen, the dog needs to be aware of the behavior that we are trying to correct, so the consequence must be immediate. It's also great to use positive reinforcement whenever possible.
