I do have a rescue cat at home so I would hope to get a Corgi that would be okay with that. Although in time, I think any would. I babysit my sons Corgi quite often and they get along just fine.

Why do you want a Pembroke? |
I have been through a very abusive marriage and am still healing. I babysit my sons Corgi often and have absolutely fallen in love. Any dog, any pet, of course is just unconditional love, something I need and want to give so much. I love my cat, I rescued her when she was about 7 months. I do love her dearly but she is just not a people cat at all. I take care of her very well but she just hasn't come around much in the 3 years I've had her. I think something might have happened to her prior to me rescuing her. I have tried with her, but, I know the best I can do is just take care of her. My sons dog however, has been such good "therapy' for me. She is so sweet and loving. I have experienced many different breeds and there are many I love and have loved, but this Corgi granddaughter of mine is indescribable. I have visited with other people that have Corgi's and they are just such a sweet and happy breed. They give me such joy and that's something that has been lacking in my life for a long time. When I have her she gives my life much more meaning. I won't ramble anymore, as I could write a book about how much I just want a Corgi in my life and how much I adore this breed.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
I have a lovely back yard with a deck. When I babysit my granddaughter Corgi, she loves to run around and chase squirrels and rabbits! I would like to walk my Corgi every day so we both get fresh air sunshine and exercise. My son takes his Corgi to dog parks often and she loves it, so I would like to try that with mine if I get one. My Corgi would be my companion and I know we would do a lot together!

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
With compassionate teaching.
Discipline: |
A stern voice and removing the pet from the situation. For instance, I babysit my sons Dachshund who will always run to the fence and bark at the neighbors when I have him. I go to him with a stern voice and say No! Then I pick him up and make him sit with me. I did this several times. After, he would still occasionally run to the fence and bark but as soon as he saw me get up and say no, he would turn around and stop.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
In the house with me mostly but I would have him or her out in the back yard with me often..

He/she would get lots of exercise either in my back yard, on walks, dog parks and I'd like to start going on hikes, so he/she would come with me. And just playing with me in the house too! Also I think he/she would eventually have fun as playmates with my sons dogs.
