Why do you want a Pembroke?
I love my sheltie/corgi mix. A pembroke is the perfect size for our "family". I am hoping to find a pembroke who would develop a good relationship with Dobby (female) due to similiar size and temperment..
I will trust the foster parents to assess if we are a good match to the needs of the dog.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Walks. We have a large fenced in dog yard in the country but near a subdivision. The fence is only 4 feet high so will need a dog that is unable yo jump the fence. The fence is designed so the dog cannot dig out. We prefer real fences to invisable fence to keep the dog safe from other animals etc. We have a series of dog doors that allow the dog to go outside at will. Since we are retired we are only away from our home for very short periods at a time. We initially plan to crate the dog only until it he adapts to his new home. We do need a corgi whose barking habits are within a normal to quiet range due to our RV camping. Duncan was an excessive barker and very reactive to other dogs which made our neighbors unhappy.

My current pet is always my first priority. Since Dobby is elderly with visual, hearing and cognitive issues, She must be treated with respect. If she is harmed in any way, i will not allow the new dog to stay. I will expect the dogs to meet prior th the adoption. This dog will receive the same consideration and priority if i attempt to introduce another dog into our home. We are hoping to downsize to a single dog family after Dobby passes, hopefully a long time from now.
