Who is this dog for? |
Both, we are a couple looking to add a Corgi to our family
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
My boyfriend and I have thought about dogs a lot in the past year, we found a friend who had a corgi and have spent a lot of time with them and decided that the breed might be right for us. We are looking for a small to medium sized dog who loves to be around people, loves to cuddle, and wants to be active. We have done some research on corgis, but have mostly experienced them in person with our friend who has one. We know training a puppy can be a lot of work, but we both have experience with young dogs and are excited for the next chapter in our lives with this dog.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
We would handle this like any dog, we want to discipline the dog, but also understand that the dog is learning and adapting to a new environment. The punishment/reaction would depend on the mistake. For example, if the dog goes to the bathroom in the house, we would make sure they know they are not allowed to do that and then bring them outside so they can try to go again and learn that is where they go.
Discipline: |
Unfortunately, we know discipline is part of raising a dog. We would use small discipline acts when needed. This could include lightly hitting on the butt or nose so they know they did something wrong, but not hard enough to truly hurt the dog as that is not what we want to do. However, we would also use praising when the dog does something good so they know the difference between wrong and right.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
Our Pembroke would spend most of their time at our house with us playing, relaxing, and having fun.
