Who is this dog for?

The pembroke would be for both Alex and Elise. We live together and are eager for the opportunity to rescue.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I (Elise) have always been a huge dog lover. Having grown up with at least two dogs in the house at all times, it has felt odd for me not to have a dog in the house as an adult. My aunt and uncle had a Pembroke named Rosey and it's safe to say she was my favorite part of family gatherings. I loved her mannerisms and watching the connection she had with my aunt. She was a little bit noisey, which bothered my uncle from time to time, but I loved watching her interactions with my aunt.

As I look to get my first animal as an adult, I've thought long and hard about how I want to get a dog. My intermediate family has always had mutts adopted from shelters, but I have always wanted a pembroke after meeting Rosey. I can't make myself buy a puppy because I grew up with the "adopt, don't shop" mentality. I feel the opportunity to rescue a pembroke would be the perfect solution.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Alex and I live an active lifestyle. We go on a walk together after work every day, which we would of course love to include a pembroke on. We also have a dog park less than a block away from our place. As mentioned before, dogs are a pretty big part of family life, so lots of doggy dates as well. I'd also love to work on tricks and obedience – one of my favorite things to do with my dogs growing up. I cannot wait to spoil my dog.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Very dependent on the mistake, but if this is referring to an accident in the house, I would simply clean up the mess and make note to make sure it wasn't a health problem or an issue with the duration of time since they last went outside.

Mistakes happen!

Discipline:
Clapping or a loud noise for when they are caught in the act
"Go to your bed" or "go to your crate" for bad behavior

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
With us! Likely the majority of time will be at home, but I'd like to take him/her on all dog friendly activities
