|
Who is this dog for? |
Hayley Anders and Brian Principe
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
Research leads me to believe the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is the perfect breed for me because of his core characteristics– outgoing, energetic, social, a bit stubborn, curious and affectionate. Brian and I are active, always out and above exploring our beautiful city by foot or by car and we would love nothing more for a Corgi to join us on our adventures.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
Plenty of exercise in the form of walking downtown and on the beach, meeting new friends at our apartment's dog park, playing fetch at any number of parks around town, plenty of belly rub sessions and Netflix marathons after long days outside playing.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
Using a soft but stern voice say, "no" and command him to sit. Walk away and let him sit for a few minutes. Corgis are extremely social and he won't like the fact he isn't being played with.
Discipline: |
Another method I would use similar to the aforementioned would be time-out. It hits along the same theory that the Corgi will see the consequence of his actions lead to time-out.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
Free in the home; depending on how his behavior is starting out, I may train him first in the crate when I am away at work and then gradually introduce him to a free living situation while I am away for work.
