Why do you want a Pembroke?
One reason I love corgis is their size. I have a dog who can be a little intimidated by dogs her size. Even though they're tiny, they have silly and goofy personalities which fits well with my home. I like to go in day hikes with my dog and want another dog to keep up with us. Did I mention how cute their butts are?

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Walks, hikes, possiblity of getting agility equipment, swimming at a local dog park, fetch, snuggling. I have a dog walker that comes on days when I have masters classes.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
Until they are potty trained, decompressed, and are familiar with the routine, they will be crated when I am gone. Eventually they will have full reign of the house. When I'm home they will go where they please.

Description of yard:

I live in a small house, but it's on a corner lot, so there's ample yard space. There are no large pools, just a plastic kid's pool my dog likes to lay on when it's hot. There are two large maple trees with plenty of squirrels and birds to chase.

Household members:

Everyone in household agrees about adopting a corgi?
Yes, everyone agrees and wants to adopt a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

May we do a home visit?

Yes, I will allow LPWCR representatives to inspect my home prior to allowing me to adopt a Pembroke.

Who will be responsible for the adopted corgi’s care?
Perissa Jowkar

Willing to train children?
Absolutely. The dogs came first. As a young child, I wasn't properly trained with how to interact with animals. As a result, one aunt's cat became fearful of humans because I didn't pick her up right. Another aunt's dog bit me, leavine with a fear of dogs for a few years.

When introducing my dog to new children, even though I know she won't hurt them, I discuss the correct way to pet her and to let her smell their hand first.

Any allergies?

No one is allergic.

Current pets:

Current pets dog friendly?

Yes, all of our current pets are friendly toward dogs.

Are you willing to work on it if your new dog doesn’t get along with your current pets right away?
Yes. My guinea pig is actually my dog's pet (long story). She adores him and won't even let my cat near him. He's in a separate room so I can easily keep the door shut until I trust the new pup.

Yes, I will only surrender my adopted corgi to LPWCR if I am unable to care for it.

Yes, I understand that there are no guarantees regarding the condition, health, behavior or personality of the Pembroke I adopt.

Carefully considered the pluses and minuses of adopting a pet?
Yes, I have carefully thought out my decision to adopt a Pembroke and am willing to deal with the consequences.
