Who is this dog for?

This would be a family member for the both of us

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We have been doing lots of research on breeds to find a family member to match our temperaments, household style, activity level, commitment to care and involvement. We love the size, as we don't want a really small breed, but we don't want a large breed either, We are moderately active and walk 3-5 miles daily and love to be outdoors. We have a single family home and a nice sized lot in town. We also like the playful and trainable temperament aspect of the breed, as well as the fact this breed would be just as comfortable curling up between us on the couch on a cold Minnesota winter day.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
We will take him for walks and play in the yard, as well as take him on day trips and camping. Fetch is definitely on the agenda as well as a good tug-of-war.
We like to garden and bike ride and would always take him with us.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Show him how we want him to handle or do something and reinforce the behavior with praise and special time

Discipline:
NO yelling. When he displays negative behavior, show him how we want him to act and praise that behavior. All dogs need to have an alpha figure to follow. They will try to please that alpha and follow by praised behavior.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In our home with us.
