Who is this dog for?

Patty and Kevin Fullin
We live in Kenosha and have a pembroke that is 9 years old and we are looking for a puppy

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I love this breed of dog, they are perfect for us, friendly and loving. Activity level is going for walks and running in the parks close by. Good for the winter since they have a thick coat and don't mind being outside for walks. Very predictable behavior and they don't mind being in the house for long naps.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Walking and being outside in fenced in backyard occasionally going to dog parks.

Aware that Pembrokes are busy, noisy dogs?
Yes

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Depends on the mistake-if it is something that is harmful such as eating chocolate I will take the corgi to the vet. when our corgi has an accident in the house i don't blame the dog but i do put the him outside and then clean up the accident. I reward him with training treats when he is doing good which is everyday.

Discipline:
I use words like "leave it" or "No" said firmly.
With a puppy I will use a kennel to protect the puppy from harm when I cannot be with the puppy and for naps. and take the puppy outside frequently and walk them with my adult corgi.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In our 4 story home.

People at home during the day?
It varies, we both work close by and we are able to stop home and have lunch at home and we are home for dinner. Its a small community and easy to come home.

Where would dog eat?
We feed our adult corgi twice a day morning after his walk and in the evening at dinner time.

Where would dog sleep:
I find that corgis we have had in the past enjoy sleeping anywhere, but at night he sleeps on his bed on the bedroom floor with us. its a large room so it can accommodate up to three dog beds.

Play & exercise:
It would be a daily walk in the colder weather and more in the warmer weather. We both love to walk with the corgi we have. We have a large fenced in backyard that our corgi loves to play and run in chasing balls, birds or squirrels.

How will you exercise your dog?
Both on leash and restrained to the yard
