Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We've wanted a dog for some time and have been researching different breeds, types, personalities, etc. over the past several months. Both of us seem to be drawn to small herding dogs like the corgi. We love the temperament, size, and the energy level works well for our lifestyle.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We are both walkers. We would love to play outside. The house has a fenced in yard. Daniel is very interested in going to a training school with the dog.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		We would first want to figure out what triggered the mistake or caused it to happen. For example, was it an unfamiliar situation for the dog, was the dog frightened, did the dog have clear cues about what was expected, etc. Based on this, if we couldn't figure out on our own what caused the dog to feel insecure or lack clarity on what was expected, we would consult with a trainer. In general, our understanding is that rewarding positive behavior works well with dogs (and people).

Discipline:
 We'd look for positive reinforcement of appropriate behavior and we would be careful to gate the dog off from certain areas if it is prone to making mistakes with house training, new people, etc.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
 In the house and yard.

 For the most part. The household is empty of people for about four hours a day on all weekdays except Friday. Efforts will be made to maximize home time with the dog.

 In the kitchen on the first floor.

Where would dog sleep:
 If it is within reason, the dog will sleep in Daniel's room which is located in the finished basement. If that is not feasible, a location will be set up on the main floor for it.

Play & exercise:
 We both are regular walkers. There are many parks, fields, etc. located in the vicinity. We also enjoy spending time in our fenced-in yard. Daniel is very much looking forward to learning how to train the dog and interacting in that way.
