Who is this dog for?

James and Amanda LaVore – married, no children, no pets

Why do you want a Pembroke?
When we started considering getting a dog, we did lots of research on all different breeds. We loves that corgis are active dogs that also love to snuggle and be near their humans. We like the fact that they seem like people pleasers and smart. We are interested in agility training so we were excited to see that corgis often excel in it. We had a neighbor that owned a corgi we really loved.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
outdoor hikes and trails
play outside in our backyard
walks around the neighborhood
obedience classes
possibly agility

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Consistent tones of 'no' and correcting the mistake. Mistakes are manageable as long as the behavior is corrected quickly so the pup understands what is expected.

Discipline:
Discipline and training need to be consistent. Happy 'yes's' and low-voiced 'no's'. Potentially a clicker if the dog would respond well to it.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
In home with Amanda who works from home.
