Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions
Who is this dog for? |
My husband and myself. | ||||||
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
They are one of the most intelligent and loving breeds of dogs I have ver met. Every corgi I have met (I have never had my own corgi friend) have been good natured and playful. My aunt had a corgi when I was young and she was my best friend when I was able to visit.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
Yes, my current dog is very active and playful and would love a dog friend that she could play with all the time. We would go on long walks (I live right next to the 606 raised walking path and near Humboldt Park) as well as visit the many dog parks nearby. We own our home and have a fenced in yard and, while small like all chicago yards) it is definitely big enough for a dog to play and run in.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
Use a low voice to indicate the behavior is bad and reinforce the correct behavior with treats.
Discipline: |
Use low voice and have them “got to bed” if they were caught in the act. If not, I might indicate displeasure with body language about the mess or bad behavior but they may not understand being disciplined later.
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
In our main floor and basement of the home. Our 2nd floor is gated so that the cats have a refuge away if they need it and we do not currently utilize a crate as our dog did not like to use it but we still have it for travel, etc.
