Who is this dog for?

This Pembroke is for Trevor and Claireesa to have as a pet.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
We want a corgi because we have loved the energy and cuddle level of every corgi we have met. We love their small/medium size, the playful energy, and how they will spend time relaxing and sitting on the couch with us. We have done research on several sites on costs, exercise, appropriate toys, if a Corgi is right for us, etc. We've done this research on AKC and PWACC, along with talking with Corgi owners on various Corgi Facebook groups.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Walks around our neighborhood, play at our local dog park in the appropriate size section, play with squeaky toys, training and mind-stimulating games, we have a food search matt that we hide food in so our dog can sniff around a find the food.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Say "No" if caught in the act and calmly show the dog what I want him/her to do. If not caught in the act, I would pay close attention to the dog to try and see if they do the behavior again. At that point I would again say "no" sternly and calmly redirect the behavior. I would stay consistent with the dog and praise him/her when they do the right things.

Discipline:
Mostly positive (treats and praise) when they are doing the right things. For disciple, I usually just say "no", and show my dog what to do. Examples of this are when my dog has an accident in the house, I point and say "no" then I take her outside. If she is jumping on me I say "no" then gently move her legs back to the ground. I then praise her when she is not jumping on me or someone else. I also give her treats when she uses the bathroom outside. When she avoids barking or jumping when she sees/hears things she would normally react to I give her praise and pets.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
My current dog has a free range of our sunroom, halls, and dining room space when we are not directly around, if we are in our room/living room she then has access to those two areas. At night time our dog sleeps in her crate. If we are expecting to be gone for long hours, we take her to our cousins house where she spends time in their full basement. Our new dog would have those same rights/freedoms.

Where would dog eat?
We have slightly elevated food bowls in our sunroom area (windowed and air-conditioned). She/he would eat in there.

Where would dog sleep:
We have our current dog's crate in our green room. We would set up a crate or sleeping area for the corgi in there as well.

Play & exercise:
We have a basket of toys in the sunroom that's accessible to the dog at all times. The corgi would be able to play with those and with our other dog any time (except at bedtime). We also spend time throughout the day playing fetch and tug of war with our current dog and would do the same with the corgi. We also take our dog on a walk around our block each day, along with shorter walks throughout the day.
