Other preferences:
We are not sure we would request a corgi over 6 or 7 years or so. We lost our last corgi last year and would prefer a dog that we can have for a while. Also must be good with small children and cats – not food aggressive or snippy if possible. We have a pretty quiet household with just the 2 of us, but have family over sometimes (when we are out of this Covid thing we will have more friends over).

We do not currently have a fenced in yard but are getting plans to put one in.

Who is this dog for?

It is for myself and my husband Chris. We have owned 2 corgis before. Our last dog passed away in August 2019. We did not pursue another dog right away because we had a cat that was 20 1/2 yrs old at the time and we didn't want to stress him by introducing a new animal to the household. He has since passed away and we now have 2 new rescue cats.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
They are smart, intelligent, easily trained, eye candy, and we have owned two corgis already that we raised from puppies that lived to be 13 yrs. 4 mo.(Percy) and 14 yrs. 6 mo. (Kirby)

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Walks, play with a ball many times a day, we made up games to play with them, took them both to obedience training, taught them some tricks, and they were our constant companions.

In our bedroom like our last two corgis did. They usually stayed the night but did have the run of the house. Our second dog Kirby had seizures when he was older, and then we confined him to our bedroom at night so we would know when he was seizing and could protect him and give him medication.

Play & exercise:
We played with our corgis every day , several times a day. We also have two rescue cats 1 year old that were in a foster home with 4 dogs and liked to play /sleep with them.

How will you exercise your dog?
