Who is this dog for?

My 5 year old Nephew (and his family)

Why do you want a Pembroke?
My nephew has had a stuffed corgi named Jimmy for his entire (albeit short) life. He has always loved corgies. Their sweet smile, their cute stature. They are, in his eyes, the perfect furry friend. His mother was and is the same way.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Walk him/her daily, feed them the best they can, and we can even send updates with photos to let you know how well they’re doing! We also would love a sweet snuggler

Aware that Pembrokes are busy, noisy dogs?
Yes

Money for basic care?

Yes

Money for unforeseen medical expenses?
Yes

Willing to house train?
Yes
Willing to do formal training? Yes

Do you have a veterinarian?

Yes

Vet contact info:
{If yes, please provide contact information including the vet’s name, clinic name, street address, city, state, zip, and phone. Also include the website if there is one.:52}

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Use proper training with reinforcement techniques, such as showing the pup the correct way to do something. Punishment works very rarely with a lot of different pets, and for pets who are loving and loyal, use each opportunity for a learning experience for the dog, as the dog just wants you to love them as much as they love you.

Discipline:
When discipline is necessary, I believe that a scolding is sometimes in order. Never physical violence, obviously! But telling the dog no, teaching them to go into a “time-out” spot are great tools for teaching the pet how to behave better.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
Mostly inside the house, which is two story. There is also a very nice backyard and a lovely neighborhood for walking, close to campus.
