Who is this dog for?

Me, myself and I

Why do you want a Pembroke?
Corgis to me bring so much happiness to me, and to those around me. I’ve always wanted to be able to have a companion that would be able to do that, and enjoy going on walks and enjoying the neighborhood that I live in with me. Going to the dog park/beach.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Dog parks. Beach. Walks. I’m very active and I would love to take walks with my new and possibly furry corgi friends.

Aware that Pembrokes are busy, noisy dogs?
Yes

Money for basic care?

Yes

Money for unforeseen medical expenses?
Yes

Willing to house train?
Yes
Willing to do formal training? Yes

Do you have a veterinarian?

No

Vet contact info:
{If yes, please provide contact information including the vet’s name, clinic name, street address, city, state, zip, and phone. Also include the website if there is one.:52}

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
Dogs are not meant to be scolded. Dogs are best trained by evidence and object based obedience training. I would always focus on correcting the mistake by ensuring positive reinforcement that is easily understood to the corgi until the new corrected behavior is learned.

Discipline:
This would require getting to know the corgi and their temperament, but I am a very strong believer in non-physical operant conditioning styles that I am familiar with from my background in psychology.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
This would be very eclectic as I would definitely have them in the house with me while I work, but making time to go out for walks multiple times a day as well as going to the dog park/beach to have some fetch and leash time would be wonderful. I do not travel for work, however I do stay with a friend once a month or so and would bring my new friend with me

Where would dog sleep:
I would have a corner in my bedroom that my new corgi friend would sleep in a size appropriate bed.
