Who is this dog for?

A single senior citizen (my father) looking for a corgi “best friend” for companionship. Needs to get along with small children (grandkids). Needs to be potty trained. Preferably male.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
This dog would be a companion to my father who is 75. We researched corgis extensively to learn about them and he loves their size, temperament, and personality.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Fishing, hiking, car rides, cuddling, play fetch.

Positive reinforcement for good behavior with praise, affection, treats. Discipline with scolding at the time of the unwanted behavior, redirect to the desired behavior, may kernel/crate for time away from the situation if needed.
