Who is this dog for?

This is for us the applicants

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I have always had an idea of my first dog to be a corgi and naming them Sora. I have done brief research on Corgi's and would go more into an in depth learning about them before adopting. No one I know owns a corgi but I have seen some on the streets and their owners have been very friendly letting me greet them. What I love the most about Corgi's is their voluptuous figure they arethe cutest.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Daily walks/runs around the house mostly and occasional park time alone with no other dogs around. We would take Sora on adventures out of state whenever or if possible. We also have parental's to watch him when we can't take him. Sora would never be alone and also have his brother Coby to keep him busy.

Aware that Pembrokes are busy, noisy dogs?
Yes

Money for basic care?

Yes

Money for unforeseen medical expenses?
Yes

Willing to house train?
Yes
Willing to do formal training? Yes

Do you have a veterinarian?

Yes

Vet contact info:
{If yes, please provide contact information including the vet’s name, clinic name, street address, city, state, zip, and phone. Also include the website if there is one.:52}

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
As calmly as can be we understand a new home can be a scary adjustment and you just have to show kindness no matte what. We are used to it with out other fur friend Coby.

Discipline:
Rewards when they correctly or positively do a command. You have to redirect when mistakes happen and not reward that behavior. We learned positive reinforcement is a better way to train than use any time of physical force.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
With us or other members of the household, Coby our older poodle mix, and walks when we have the time to go outside.

House dog or outside dog?

House dog

People at home during the day?
Yes. Francely's mom and brothers wife are stay at home mothers. Someone is always at the house.

Where would dog eat?
Whatever is the healthier option our dog eats Rachael Ray's dog food right now. A chicken and veggie mix. I 100% would not feed my dog human food I am against it because I've seen dogs always beg for more once they've had it.

Where would dog sleep:
In our bed and we have an extra room that will be dedicated to their play room so if they choose they can sleep there too.

Play & exercise:
We have a backyard they can run around all they want! A park close by also , so there are choices. We have plenty of toys to play with to stay active.

How will you exercise your dog?
On leash

Fenced yard?

Yes, I have a fenced in yard.

Willing to pick up dog waste?
Yes, I will clean up after my dog.

Willing to use a crate?
The backyard is fenced I believe 5 feet high on one side and probably double that on the other side. It is gated to where only a human could reach and open the fence door.

Living arrangements:
Own home

Landlord info:
{If you rent/lease your home, please list the name, telephone number and email address of your landlord. State “Not Applicable” if you own your own home.:67}

May we contact your landlord?

Lease allow dogs:

Landlord permission:

Restrictive covenants?
No, the condo covenants do not prevent me from having a dog.

Breed/size restrictions?
No

Description of yard:

No swimming pools. Backyard has a fire pit about 3 feet high we rarely use that though. That is never unsupervised there is an adult controlling the fire pit. Front yard is small grass area not fenced but they wouldn't have the chance to run around there anyways without being on a leash.

Household members:
{Describe all the people who live in your home, include names, ages and interests. For example, Mary Smith, 29, Enjoys cooking, dog training, gardening and running.:75}

Yes, all of our current pets are friendly toward dogs.

Are you willing to work on it if your new dog doesn’t get along with your current pets right away?
Yes! We can always keep them in different households. Coby doesn't mind dogs but we will keep an eye on them until they are comfortable together.

Lifetime commitment to Pembroke?

Yes, I am willing to commit to this dog for the rest of its life.
