Questions Regarding Motivation for Adopting and Intentions
Who is this dog for? |
Both of us, though Joe is excited about having another corgi.
Why do you want a Pembroke? |
We were blessed with owning a corgi shortly after we were married (50+). He was a puppy with a bundle of fun & love. He came from a pet store (boo!) Joe would go to the store any time he was in the neighborhood & finally decided he needed to take him home where he would get the love & care he needed. It was a wonderful choice & even during the puppy stage, we were never sorry we adopted him.
Activities planned with Pembroke: |
Walks, walks & more walks. He/she would live in a house with a doggy door & fenced in backyard. We would play with him/her according to its age & ability.

{If yes, please provide contact information including the vet’s name, clinic name, street address, city, state, zip, and phone. Also include the website if there is one.:52}
Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: |
With patience & understanding. You try to redirect the dog to the proper way to do things. Sometimes all they need is a hug.
Discipline: |
A stern voice may be enough to stop the dog from doing wrong. Redirecting the dog's actions from what they are doing to a more acceptable one. If necessary, a time out in their crate would be appropriate. |
||||||
Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time: |
Since we are both retired & don't do much traveling, our Pembrook would spend most of her time wherever we are…in the house, outside while we work in the garden, etc.

People at home during the day? |
Yes, most days at least one of us is home.
Where would dog eat? |
Meals are served in the kitchen under supervision because we have another dog & several cats. Currently, each one knows its eating place. And we do not free feed!
Where would dog sleep: |
There are multiple animal beds around the house. In the beginning, she might have to sleep in a crate or in a bed in our bedroom. Once everyone is comfortable with rules, she can sleep anywhere she wants. Usually our pets find their favorite spot & sleep there.
Play & exercise: |
Marilyn likes to take walks & our corgi will go with her. Joe likes to work in the yard & would play with the corgi & her toys. Romeo, our dog, would love to run "laps" with her. |
