Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I’ve fostered a corgi for 2 years and I’ve never felt more connected to a pet! I’ve had other breeds as pets but corgis’ have seemed to suite me best. I don’t mind the louder than usual bark, the energy and stubbornness. I think they are incredibly smart and my research with them just makes me love them more. The queen’s dog for a reason.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I enjoy walking and hiking a lot. I love making trips out to Lake Michigan. I’ve attended my fair share of corgi meet ups (especially the ones in Grand Rapids) but if anything were to stress out my corgi in public i would refrain from that. I make costumes and I’d love to play dress up. I have a large fenced in backyard, we would do all sorts of activities there.

 I want to adopt a Corgi because they are the right balance of energetic and cuddly. I love how smart they are and how they need stimulation through playing/exercise. I am a very active person and would love a companion to go on runs, swim, and play fetch with. I have done a lot of research on the breed and it seems we would be a perfect match!

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		If my Pembroke made a mistake, for example, biting, chewing on furniture, I would calmly guide it to another object and show him/her it's not okay. Or I could use a noise method, for instance, if it bit me I could reciprocate a yelp showing the dog that it hurts.

 The both of us! We are an engaged couple excited to get married and make our family whole with a corgi!

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 While I know corgis are adorable and everyone holds a place in their heart for a corgi, we really believe this breed was meant for us. I have avidly researched the breed and love the history, the energy, and the personality these dogs have. We are an active couple that loves small-medium sized dogs. We are not afraid of giving dogs attention and stimulation, and feel that we are able to match the attention a Pembroke needs.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		My fiancé and I had a lengthy discussion about this. We would call the dogs attention to it right away, and start by putting a hand in front of the dog’s face, and loudly say “NO NO NO” so it learns. We read that corgis can be resistant to some training because of how smart they are, so we would be open to either a spray bottle or even guiding a dogs head down (NEVER too forcefully) to enforce the training. We have even discussed crate discipline, however as corgis are active dogs, this would be done sparingly. We would also incorporate positive reinforcement frequently, especially in the early weeks of training/establishing routines.

 Yes, my fiancé works from home and would be around to give the dog multiple bathroom breaks. He tends to jog midday, which is a GREAT way to release some gorgeous corgi energy.

 In our kitchen, out of their food and water bowls. We would feed the corgi 2-3 times a day, pending vet recommendations.

Where would dog sleep:
 We would feel out the needs of the dog, but either on our couch, in a dog bed or even at the foot of our bed if the dog had separation anxiety.

Play & exercise:
 This is my favorite question. I love hide and seek toys, tug of war ropes, jogging, hiking, and taking multiple walks a day with dogs. I am very active and can match the energy level of the dog, so we would assess the dogs energy needs and add or take away walks if needed. We love being outside and live close to the lakeshore, so it would be perfection for us to walk down the lakeshore path with our corgi.

 I have owned two male corgis, one 14 years and one 12years.I love their ears, their butts, their brains and they have brought me so much joy and I lose my best friend when it God calls. I am a quiet person and chat with my dog and I love how they
tilt their head like they understand. I also love they have to get the last word in.
I call it corgi attitude. I basically can't think of a thing I don't police other than

 Walk daily even in the snow. Go to the dog park which is a private 25 acre fenced

Once I have attention, I poking to issue and say no. I never strike. I use voice commands and two or three times it seems to correct issue. Once it is done right a lot of petting, good dog, etc

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 They are intelligent and energetic. I want a dog that I can play around with but also one that is trainable. The size is perfect for my living situation since I live in a shared apartment building and don't want a dog that will be heavy footed. And they have great personalities! I think their short stature and tall ears are adorable and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi has always been my dream dog.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I have a backyard that is perfect for daily playtime. I also go on lots of walks around my neighborhood that I would love to bring the dog on. Additionally, there is a dog beach not far from my house that I would take him/her to play at over the summer.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		I think training a dog mostly involves positive reinforcement so I would acknowledge what they did wrong and the next time they do the correct behavior, I would reward them.
