Why do you want a Pembroke?
 First of all, of course I love Corgi's cute face and the butt and the way they stare at humans. But I really love Corgi's personality as well! The loud barking nature of corgis is just adorable to me, and I feel like this trait means the corgis want to communicate and be known from their surroundings. I also know that corgis shed a lot due to their double coats. I expect this and it is fine with me. Also, I'm aware of the high energy that corgis have! This is the main reason I want to adopt. I want to be with them, play with them, and give love. I also know corgis need a lot of attention. All of these traits are lovely to me.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I'd play in my house and there is a dog park in my apartment. An outdoor dog park where dogs can play, walk, run, and explore! I'll go for 1-2 walks or plays a day, and I'll continuously give my attention throughout the day.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		First, I would calmly correct the behavior and let him/she know that the behavior is not okay. I won't excite the Pembroke, but rather be cold and quietly correct the behavior. Then, I'd take the Pembroke outside and go for a walk after teaching!

Discipline:

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My favorite quality of corgis would be that they are loyal, playful, smart, working class dogs. They are sweet, spunky and a little sassy. I love this breed because of their unique personalities and their wiggly butts. I have done A LOT of personal research and know that corgis are active, herding dogs that are super smart! I have not owned my own corgi, but one of my close friends has a tricolor! I love playing fetch with him.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I love the high energy, active dog that a corgi is. We currently have a 1 year old Australian Shepherd that has similar breed characteristics. We like that corgi's are usually very active, and like to stay busy. My husband has always wanted an aussie, and I have always wanted a corgi, now that our aussie, Milo is over a year old, we are ready to add a playmate for him with a similar energy level!

 Me and my fiancé on the application are looking to adopt a corgi.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I've always wanted a corgi and after doing a lot of research on the breed we think that it would be a perfect fit for our lifestyle. We know that these dogs were originally herders and are built strong and athletic. We are able to provide a loving atmosphere and enough stimulation and physical exercise for this energetic breed. All experiences have been positive as these dogs almost always tend to be pretty friendly, yet protective. We have done research and will continue to do so to better prepare and adapt to the needs of the corgi we receive.

 We love to go on long walks especially along the lake Michigan. We are currently looking at dog parks around the neighborhood we just moved to. We would also love to take the dog hiking and any outdoor activities. We also love to play with our dog inside the house with toys.  We are primarily looking for a brother/buddy for our Rough Collie. He has been with us for a year and was rescued from a puppy mill. Who is this dog for?

 Our family, which consists of my husband of nearly 27 years, Rob, our daughters Emily (16) and Paige (11), our three-legged 20lb 12yr old rescued cat Buffy, our 5yr old rescued Rough Collie Duff, and our 1-1/2yr old guinea pig, Honey.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We love our Rough Collie but do not want another large dog. We did our research and Corgis and Collies appear to have many complimentary characteristics. We have also known people who have them and we enjoy their stories about the breed's personality. Also, they are just too cute with their little butt wiggles!

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We are very outdoorsy. We live on a dead-end with a nice sized yard and a wooded area next to us that we frequently explore. We also walk Duff multiple times daily in our neighborhood, frequent the local dog parks, and are WI State Park members where we walk Duff often, too. I also have a convertible and sometimes we'll just go for a ride with the top down, which he loves.

If he had an accident in our home (which is likely in the beginning and also happened a couple times when Duff first came home with us) we would have to figure out what his cues were for needing to go outside that we missed. If he was chewing on furniture, we'd try to redirect

 Lately, yes – I have been working from home during the COVID19 outbreak and the girls have been attending school from home, too. Now that it is summer, they are home for at least the next three months, and I might be going back to my office at least a few days per week starting in July. Rob still goes to the office daily and is home by 3:30-ish most afternoons, and we're all home on the weekends.

Where would dog eat?
 Currently, we have the pet dishes in our home office, next to where I currently work from home. We are in the process of remodeling and eventually they will likely be relocated to our kitchen/dining area.

Where would dog sleep:
 Anywhere in our home where he is comfortable. We have many snuggly options!

Play & exercise:
 In addition to being buddy/brother to our dog-friendly and playful Rough Collie, he will have our yard to explore (on a leash or an anchored lead and with us also outside), our neighborhood, the woods next to our home, throughout our downtown/local beach, State Parks, and local dog parks.
