 Both of my girlfriend and I.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We're drawn to the personality of the breed – curious, playful, and energetic. My girlfriend, who is 5'0", loves the breed's short stature and short legs. We also love the smirks we see on these dogs.

Yes, we have read up on the breed, but I'll admit that my girlfriend has probably done more reading than I have.


Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We have a park across the street from our condo where we could play around with our puppy. We also have ample space indoors for the corgi to be active. Aside from that, just hanging out with our corgi would bring us happiness.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		If we see the mistake happening in real time, we would guide the puppy to show it their actions are not good, and direct them towards a more appropriate behavior.

Discipline:
 With corgis being excitable, being cold to the corgi will deliver the message that its actions are not welcome. Also, we've read a timeout area like a pen would be useful to curb unwanted behaviors.

 I own a very spunky Black Tri. He’s on the smaller side. He’s well trained and very social (almost too social)

 I take bear on 2-3 walks per day totaling about 3 miles. We do a lot of trails around the city. We’ve taken him out to eat, and attended outdoor concerts in the summer. He has a baby pool in our fenced in back yard that he loves to jump in and play with toys.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Mine is very sensitive, so even if I raise my voice a bit he feels really bad and goes in his kennel, so I try to redirect. He really never does anything bad though. If he gets too wild at night playing I say “bear chill” and he does, at least for a bit.

Discipline:
 Leave it and take it commands are what I use for 99% of everything. I can leave a plate of food in the living room and tell him to leave it while I get something to drink and he totally will. I haven’t tried it for more than a couple minutes, too nervous lol.

 In my office, living room, back yard. He’s kennel trained at night and loves to go to bed.

Discipline:

Who is this dog for?

 Tim and myself. We are an active, financially stable, engaged couple.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We have both grown up loving corgis but because of family members allergies, this is the first time we are able to get one. We love the personality of a corgi, the size, the activity level and can honestly say corgis bring us a unique joy we have dreamed of adding to our family since we have started dating. Who is this dog for?

 A family of three who are looking to adopt a dog for the first time. We have never owned a dog before, but are very interested in doing so during this lockdown due to the unprecedented surplus of time spent at home.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We have done a fair amount of research on the dog and feel that the lifestyle and the requirements of the dog are something that we can definitely adapt our lifestyles to fit. Namely, we were looking for a medium sized dog that does not require excessive amounts of exercise, and were immediately drawn to the amount of affection that can be contained within this smaller breed. I really like how this type of dog looks as well as their capability for learning and affection.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Definitely daily interactions and walks outside (around the block or within our fenced yards). Typical dog training and toy playing is also planned. With three working adults with jobs that make it easier to work from home, there shouldn't be long periods of time in which the dog is not mentally and physically stimulated.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		The most important part is making sure the pembroke understands that it made a mistake and that it should not replicate its actions in the future. I imagine that this is done with a firm voice and body language towards the dog with the use of key training words so it can be used as a learning opportunity on what's wrong and what's right.

 I think an important part of discipline is through positive reinforcement. Creating an understanding through a feedback system of good behavior resulting in praise and treats along with the contrast of bad behavior resulting in firm words and lack of treats and/or timeouts should make it clear to the dog when it is in the right or wrong. Making connections through associating positive behavior with rewards is an important part in teaching the dogs how to behave.

 Most of the time would be spent inside the house on the ground floor, as I've learned that due to their shortened legs corgis should avoid climbing down stairs if possible to avoid long-term issues from arising. Of course, this includes daily outside time and walks.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We have done research on the breed. We love their friendliness (to humans and other dogs), activity level, compact size, and intelligence! We also love their snuggles!

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We plan to hire a dog walker for midday and go on 1-2 additional walks per day. We also are home between Friday to Sunday every week and go on hikes/walking trails. We plan to enroll in obedience training. We also see our family often and would take our dog to family gatherings.
