Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We have had a corgi mix in the past. It was absolutely perfect for our autistic son. I have done a lot of reamsearch on the breed as well. We have decided this is the breed we want to go with.

Who is this dog for?

 Our names are Kristen Clauder and Alex Werny, we are looking to adopt a Corgi. We currently reside in Livonia, MI and have a fenced in yard. We do have two cats but they both have been around and lived with dogs. We’re hoping to find the right dog for our family, and give it lots of love and attention. Both of us have lots of dog experience and are excited to rescue.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Corgis are loyal, energetic and playful dogs. I’ve always loved medium sized dog that likes to heard and is willing to be trained. I’ve ever owned a corgi but have family and friends who’ve had them, all of them were loving, sweet, but playful dogs. I’ve mostly had hounds and herding dogs (beagles, doxies, Shelties) which are similar in personality to corgis. They’re also incredibly adorable and bring lots of joy to peoples lives. While they can be vocal and energetic, I also like that they can be relaxed and cuddle too. We’re an active family though, and like corgis because they don’t always just want to lay around.

 I love how they look, their walks are so adorable to me. I watch a lot of corgi’s on youtube(ex: Gatsby) and I want to have one just like him and receive/give so much love.

 I've done lots of research on the breed! I've actually got a small spreadsheet running on different breeds and rescues, which is how I found you all. I love their size (for practicality's sake) and general demeanor, but more than that, they seem like truly loyal, cuddly, trustworthy best friends.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Well besides the obvious answer of them being SO adorable with their fluffy behinds, we think the Corgis' personality fits ours. We are an active household but also know how to relax and we love to snuggle. We want a dog that wants to be included in most of what we do daily (exercise, relaxing at home, and hang out with our families) while often offering us comedic relief. We have done research on the Corgi breeds as well as many other dogs. (We will take all and any of the dogs.)

We have done some research on the breed, and we find their temperament (smart, loyal yet sometimes stubborn, loves to be active) would be a good fit for us.

 During this pandemic, I now work from home full-time and rarely leave the house except for groceries and other essential services. Once Illinois reopens more, I plan to work from home one or two days a week going forward. My husband is considered an essential worker, so he works from home only one day a week. One of us is almost always home on weekends.

Where would dog eat?
 Our adopted corgi would eat in our dining room, and we would set out a little station where they can eat/drink water near the table. This will be similar in the event we travel.

Where would dog sleep:
 Our adopted corgi would sleep in a dog bed either in our bedroom or living room, which is two rooms over in our apartment. This will be similar in the event we travel.

Play & exercise:
 We have a good sized yard with a grassy area that measures about 10 feet by 10 feet, and that will be our main place where our corgi will play. We are also less than a mile away from two city parks, one of which has a dog-friendly area. Depending on our dog's individual needs, we plan to take them out for two to three walks a day, as well as time to play in our yard or a nearby park.
