Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Calmly. Dogs make mistakes and it isn't a big deal. Just firmly tell them no and try to train them not to do it again.

Discipline:
 My sister worked for a doggy daycare place for years and has done obedience training and has offered to help me with training any dog I get. My discipline would be verbal only. No hitting or dragging the dog is necessary ever IMO.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I've wanted a corgi for over 15 years now, one of course because they are adorable. But I've met many in my life and they as very sweet and loyal dogs. I like the size as well, much easier for me to handle taking on walks and car rides. Always wanted one.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 In general, Pembroke Corgis are a great fit for what our family is looking for in a pet – personable, playful, and adoring of human attention. As a family, we have done our research. While we don't have a fenced yard, keeping a Corgi would fit into our lifestyle as we are active in walking the neighborhood, routinely visiting parks, and enjoying the outdoors. When my husband first considered welcoming a pet to the family back in 1999, my desire was for a corgi, however our income prevented us from making that a reality. Fortunately, our rescue dog, Nikki, came into our lives and stole our hearts. We had her until November 2014. We are ready to open our hearts again to our next pet.

 Daily walks, 1-2x weekly visits to the dog park (when they open back up here in MI), shower him/her with fun toys, and bring along on family vacations.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		First, I would determine whether the mistake was due to a physical ailment or poor behavior. If it's behavior related, such as jumping up, I would ignore it by turning away and re-entering the room. I would do this until the jumping up has ceased. As humans, we would wouldn't make entries a big deal, to also not encourage the behavior.

 Positive reinforcement would be our method of "discipline." Using praise, treats, toys, and play would be the carrots on the end of the stick. To interrupt negative behavior, we would use stern voices to distract and then redirect to a positive behavior.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Depends on age and temperament of the dog, when Maggie was a pup, we growled and stated NO firmly, she was smart and knew what we meant. Most of the time firm vocal corrections worked but we rarely had problems, all our dogs have been really good.

Discipline:
 Firm vocal corrections and making a clicker sound with the correction. We do not hit our dogs ever.

 If the dog is housebroken, they have free reign except for the bedrooms when we are not home, our bed is high and we don't want the dogs to try to jump up there and get hurt.

Who is this dog for?

 This adoption would be ourselves, a retired couple in their mid-60s. Live in the Milwaukee, WI area in a pet-friendly apartment complex. Have had a Corgi/Beagle mix in the past, and would love to adopt a young/adult Corgi at this time, hopefully in the current age range of 1-5 years old.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Adopted a 5-yr old Corgi/Beagle mix several years back, and loved her immensely until her passing at the age of 12 from kidney failure. We've also enjoyed the company of a neighbor's young Corgi since.

 This Pembroke is intended to be a companion animal for myself

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 As a vet tech I have been around almost every breed imaginable, and some of my favorites have been the corgis. I also I have been around a family members corgi and fell in love with her big dog attitude but in a cute little body. I am aware of the different health problems corgis can have such as DM and hip dysplasia. Also, I understand their need to be at their ideal weight due to the stress obesity can put on their bodies. But regardless, I love corgis for their intelligence and their ability to be trained to do a task (although I realize they may be stubborn). Also, I love their big personalities and actually love that they are prone to barking since I will be living alone.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I would like to have Pembroke that will go on walks or short hikes with me but will also cuddle up after a stressful day at work. When timing is appropriate I would love a Pembroke that is sociable and likes to go out and be around other dogs and people.

And if the behavior persists then I would consider seeking a professionals help. Also I know that corgis respond well to having owners they respect, so I plan to discipline my dog with a stern voice if needed but no forms of negative reinforcement like shock collars.

 I will be living alone so there will not be people home while I am not home. But as a graduate student I have a schedule that will allow me to come home throughout the day to spend time with my dog.

 My adopted corgi will sleep in the house whether it is more comfortable in a certain room or in a crate is up to the dog but I am comfortable with both options.

Play & exercise:
 My adopted corgi will have a fully fenced in yard that we will be able to play in. Also, I plan to go for daily walks or hikes with my dog. And if the dog does well around other dogs I would love to take her to dog parks where she can socialize and burn off some extra energy. My corgi will have anywhere between 30 mintues to an hour and a half of exercise each day.
