Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Want a companion and furry friend again. Have always loved corgis, from the personality they exert and the fact that they aren't small dogs, but aren't large either. I've had experiences with owning a German Shepard/Blue Heeler mix, so I'm used to a larger high energy dog. I'd rather adopt than purchase [from breeding farm or the like] to give a dog a loving home without supporting the breeding industry. I have done research on the breed.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Walks, trips to the park, fetch, chase, runs (jogging), car rides, lazy days, there are a lot pet friendly places in the city here, so I would take her there as well such as bars/restaurants

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		All creatures make mistakes, but when a dog is in the act of a mistake, firmly tell them "no" (not yelling) and then changing the attention to something that's pet-parent approved. With smaller dogs/pups, can just pick them up as well.

Discipline:
 Redirect to a positive, such as if the dog is pottying in the house, then redirect outside if caught in the act. Stop them from doing the act, then redirect attention. Positive reinforcement is the only way to train dogs in a way that's not powered by fear, so reinforce the good and redirect the bad behavior.

 We love how affectionate the breed can be. That is something that we really look for in a dog. They are also easy to train compared to some other breeds. We don't have any in person experience with the breed, but have done thorough research into them and fully understand what they are like and what they need.

Who is this dog for?

 For our family. We adopted our first corgi from Winnebago County Animal Shelter in 2015. We love his personality and would love to rescue another corgi to provide a loving home and companion for our roughly 8-9 year old male corgi.

 Our family. We have 11 year old and 8 year old girls who love their grandmas sweet corgi. Our youngest is afraid of dogs but wants to have one and had made good progress with my mother's low key dog.

Who is this dog for?

 We have been wanting to adopt a second dog after we adopted our spoiled boy Bowie. He is very social and enjoys the company of other dogs. We had to wait until we had enough space for two dogs. We have recently moved into our first home and we are now ready to shower our love on a little cutie in need of a new home.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have grown up with larger dogs most of my childhood. I have without a doubt adored each dog, but I am ready to share some love with a smaller breed. The energy levels of corgi would match well with our current blue heeler mix. We have watched a variety of dogs for friends and family and fell in love with the demeanor and snuggability of the corgi breed. Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I love the breed and have always wanted a Corgi. We have several Corgis in the neighborhood and I just love their personalities, I am very familiar with the breed and have done plenty of research. I am a firm believer in rescuing dogs and have rescued 3 in my adult life. It's the best way to get a wonderful dog and give them a forever home that is loving and caring.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have done some research on the breed. Other than being adorable, they are smart and trainable. I also love that they’re super loyal and want to be together all the time.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I would love to have a dog that I can run with every day after it’s trained. I don’t like big dogs but corgis can keep up even with their short legs! We also have a large fenced in yard for it to play in with us

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have owned PWC's off and on since I was thirteen. Showed two Pems to their AKC Championship back then. In the 90's living in Holland I had a Pem (not show quality) and a Cardigan who won various championships. In the meantime I've also owned a Japanese Akita and a Pem when I lived i San Francisco.
I love the breed for its intelligence, loyalty and will to please. The alert expression inspires me.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Walking,
hiking
possibly agility, but that's more of a long shot.
I would love to get back into conformation but that will have to wait until retirement and a dog that fits that bill better.
