Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My childhood dog, from ages 5-18 was a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Chester. He was the first dog in my life and showed me all of the lovable qualities of corgi's. His high energy and strong personality are traits I love in dogs. My grandfather has also had 6 corgi's in my lifetime including two currently. I have been around corgi's my whole life.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Plenty of walk and fetch. Enjoy playing monkey in the middle with a tennis ball for hours on end. Also encourage the dog to sleep on the bed, no shortage of affection.

Who is this dog for?

 This Pembroke is for me and my other Pembroke, Dewi.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My main reason is to have a companion for my other Pembroke, Dewi. Even though I spend time with him in the mornings, when I come home for lunch, and go for walks after work, I hate leaving him home alone all day. When I had my other Pembroke, they would play all day together. In addition to a companion for Dewi, I love the breed. They are such loving cuddles bugs and energetic adventure companions all in one.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Dewi and I go on walks all the time (weather permitting). I personally love the outdoors and we are 25 minutes from some excellent trails just outside a national park. When it is too cold to be outside, I have a open concept living room, dining room, kitchen, and I will throw Dewi’s rope or tug of war, his favorite. Dewi also enjoys fetch outside.

 In the dining room is where Dewi’s bowl is. I would keep their bowls separate. My old Pembroke, Bitterman, and Dewi did well eating near each other, but I would observe Dewi and the new Pembroke for a time to be sure there was no food stealing or aggression.

Where would dog sleep:
 Either with me in bed, or in a dog bed on the floor. Dewi sleep in either, depending on how he’s feeling.

Play & exercise:
 My adopted corgi would get to play with Dewi all day. I also set aside time before I go to work and at lunch to give them attention. Also, after work, we would either go for a walk to a park down the street, and on the weekends going to the trails near town. When it is too cold I still play rope in the house.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have always loved the breed since I was a little girl. A friend of mine had a corgi, and I knew that I always wanted to adopt one. My family knows a corgi breeder in northwest Indiana but I would prefer to adopt if possible.

 The dog would have regular walks and play dates with dog cousins. Our building in Chicago has an amazing dog run. My family owns a few acres of land that are fenced in , so I would bring the dog there to run around and play.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I fell in love with them when I saw a special on Queen Elizabeth and her pack of Corgi's. Besides them being absolutely adorable, they are supposed to be smart, active, loving dogs. Good with children and other pets. I have only met Corgi's briefly but have talked quite a bit with others who have them. Yes, I've researched them. I do know they can have back, hip and eye issues, along with being prone to obesity.

 fetch with the ball or what ever their choice of toy may be, walks around the neighborhood. I have a pontoon boat and like to park in shallow water to play ball with my German shorthair. I would most likely get a life jacket for my Corgi, as I'm not certain how well they do swimming. I enjoy gardening and working in my yard, so I'm outside a lot, which works out to throwing the ball a lot..lol

 I'm a homebody and don't 'go out' a lot, so outside of my 8 hour work days, 4 days a week, I'm home a lot. If I go somewhere, I try to take my dogs with me. If it's a vacation, my brother comes and stays at the house with them.

 In my laundry room

Where would dog sleep:
 It depends on their level of behavior. Obviously with bad behavior it would be confined to either the crate or my laundry room. Working on up to good behavior, that pup would be welcome to sleep with me, either on the bed or one of the doggie beds. I know that some dogs like to sleep in their crate, so that is fine with me too.

Play & exercise:
 Leash walks, ball playing, swimming in the summertime. Playing with them with their favorite toys. Exercise will be daily with myself and with my other dog.

 Both on leash and restrained to the yard

 grass,fenced in 2 & 1/2 lots, backyard. Front yard is not fenced in but they are not allowed in that yard. A fenced in vegetable garden and fenced in berry garden. There are gates on either side of the house going from front to back yard that remain closed and secured with bungie cords.

Who is this dog for?

 My husband and I are both in age 30. My husband is finishing his phD at University of Chicago and I am currently working as a sensory scientist at Mars Wrigley located in Chicago.

I'm looking for in a corgi and they have been my dream dog and they are a perfect size dog.

My husband and I had done many research about Corgi before deciding that we are ready to have our first Corgi. We will be first time dog parents. We are both animal lovers and we grew up with dogs in our lives. They are our family and best friends ❤️

We would like to provide a loving home to a rescue Corgi.


Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Corgi has always been my dream dog. We are currently living in 2 bedrooms apartment and Corgi is a perfect size dog. We did all the research about the dog and their personalities and Corgi seems to be a perfect fit for me and my husband.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 there are plenty of activities that I'm prepared for with my corgi. Taking him/her to the dog park if Chicago weather allows, go for a walk, go to the dog beach, explore many parks in the city, go for road trips, go hiking together, teach him/her new and cool tricks, etc.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		I will make sure to correct the mistake at the moment so the dog knows that is a NO! NO! situation and redirect him in other way with more appropriate behavior.

 I would use positive reinforcement for good behaviours, and will set rules and boundary with the dog in the early stage of training as well as spending more time and be patient with the dog.

 Yes. My husband will be home most of the time. He may be gone for 1-2 hours/daily for his classes but he is around. I usually work from 9 am – 5 pm but in case when both of us are gone, we will find a dog walker or our friends to look after the dog.

 We live in an apartment so he will eat together with us. I would like to set up an area in the kitchen for his food bowl so its easier to clean up 🙂

 He/She will have his own bed and he can sleep anyplace with his choice or sleep with us in our bedroom.

 we will make sure our dog gets enough exercise and activities to stay healthy. We are both active people. For now, I am thinking we would walk the dog twice a day early in the morning and one in the evening so the dog can be outside and stay healthy. Will let him out for short time in the mid day to go potty.
