Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Our family, especially our daughter, has always loved Corgis. Many years ago we filled out an application with you and patiently waited. Another rescue came to our attention (not a corgi) that desperately needed a home. We took her in. A week later you guys called us….
It wasn’t meant to happen. Hopefully this time it will work out!

We also have a lake house with a large lot on the lake and in warmer weather a boat

Who is this dog for?

 For my husband and I. We are new to the breed and have fallen in love. We have a 5 month old Pembroke and we would really like to find another. We did purchase her through a breeder, but our hearts are telling us that we need to find one that we can rescue. Both of our previous dogs (who both passed away this year) were rescues and it is honestly our preference to do so. We don't have any kids so we put all of our time into our dogs, who make our family complete.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We love our Penny (Pembroke) who we got about 1.5 months ago. She is the spunkiest, funniest little dog and we just love spending time with her. Pembrokes are a new breed for us and we are spending a lot of time learning about her and what her needs are.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We love to take Penny for walks in our large yard (we are working on going down the road, but she is still learning that cars are not too scary). We have purchased a few different puzzle/games that keep her brain active and engaged. We enjoy going on hikes and walking in the woods. We also try and socialize her with other dogs as much as possible. So far, our puppy loves to play with other dogs.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Redirect and understand that mistakes happen. When our puppy has accidents on the floor or starts to chew on something she shouldn't, we either take her right outside or we give her something that she is allowed to chew on.

Discipline:
 We use redirection and often times just ignore her. Sometimes if she is really naughty (again, chewing on things she shouldn't be) she gets a little time out in her penned off area where she can't get to us.

 We have an area in our front porch (enclosed) that we have closed off by a baby gate. Our puppy has ample room to move around (I think it is approx. 5' x 10'). We have her bed and food in there for her. She is only up there at night and during the work day. Otherwise, she follows us wherever we are. We spend a lot of time outdoors playing and walking.

 We do both work full time M-F, but I come home on my lunch break. We are home by 3:30 pm and remain home other than maybe a quick errand. We are home most weekends. If we are not home, we have been taking our puppy with us and plan to do the same with another dog/puppy.

 That would all depend on if there is food aggression between my current puppy and any adopted puppy. If there are issues with that, we would separate the two during meal times. We would just need to see how they behaved together to make that determination, I think.

Where would dog sleep:
 If the puppy/dog is potty trained, we have always allowed our dogs to sleep in a dog bed on the floor of our bedroom. We currently have our puppy in an enclosed area at night, because we are still working on potty training.

Play & exercise:
 We love to take walks and play ball/fetch in the back yard. We also love to let our dogs come with us to my husbands parents home in the country. They have a large fenced in yard where they can run and play all day. Our plan for the spring of 2020 is to portion off another large area of our yard (we live on 4 acres) with a chain link fence where our dogs can run as much as they want but still be safe.

Who is this dog for?

 This Pembroke is for myself and my family. My husband, Kash grew up with corgis and we are ready to welcome one into our home and what better way than to adopt?

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 As said previously, my husband grew up with corgis and I have been around his family's corgi and one of our friends has three. They make excellent companion dogs, they are energetic and loyal. A great family dog, which is exactly what we need.

 We would walk and overall spend a lot of time outdoors. Our Pembroke would go with us on family vacations and truly be a member of our family.

 In the past we have always taken the dog outside or given the dog a toy. For instance if the dog had an accident inside, we would go outside. If the dog was chewing on the furniture then we would give a toy or go outside to play.

 The Pembroke would spend the majority of her time doing whatever we are doing. So, during the summer that would be playing outside, going to the lake, enjoying everything outdoors. During the winter, we still enjoy walks, but typically spend more time indoors.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I love corgis. I love how smart and loyal they are. I love their sweet happy faces. I love their bossy little ways. I love their poofy little butts. I miss mine so bad it's killing me. We were best friends for so long. I loved her so much.

 I took her everywhere with me. We walked and played more when she was young. She used to frolic in the garden and run around the pond. She was a wonderful companion. She had arthritis when she got older, so she was more of a couch buddy, which was great. She loved people and loved to ride in grocery carts. She was never happier than when the wheels were rolling under her butt.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		A firm tone of voice is all you need with a corgi. It also helps to give them plenty of opportunities for positive reinforcement. Consistency is important. Extra effort in the first year makes for a joyful lifetime with a well behaved pet.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have been fortunate to live with two wonderful Pembroke Welsh Corgis. What do I love about them? I love their intelligence, their stubborn personality, their energy, their independence, their ability to love totally when they respect their people. Both of my Corgis let me believe I was the "Alpha" when they both knew they were really in charge, but I knew they totally loved me and worked to protect me and make sure I was happy. There's many other things I love about Corgis – I love their smile, their sense of humor, their "can do" attitude and strength, their ability to "read" a person or another animal and be gentle and loving when needed.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I will take my new Pembroke for walks, trips to the dog parks, trips to local dog friendly stores and snuggle and cuddle when they are willing. I will initially have the two of us take an obedience class so I can learn the best things to do so we can work as a team. Other activities would depend on what the dog likes to do.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Currently my 15 year old Pembroke, Queen Bodecea, has several potty accidents daily. She likes to supervise me while I'm cleaning up her accident and pee pads. I put my arm around her and tell her how much I love her. I'm not real sure what you mean by mistakes but I have a habit of either using the mistake as a trainable moment or to just clean it up and move on.

 I lost my corgi, Boo Boo 2 years ago. She was 12 and we had to put her down due to old age. I knew for a fact that I wanted another corgi but I wanted to wait until the time was right. God came to me in a dream one night this past week and told me now was the time to do it. I have always loved corgis due to their energy cleverness and loyalness. Boo Boo was my best friend and I rescued her when she was a puppy and I got to watch her grow up and nurture her into the amazing dog she was.  I love the breed. My ex-wife and daughters were involved in equestrian activities, where I got to know Corgis.
