Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I love corgis, i love their size and their calm yet playful demeanor. They are super cute and i cant get enough of them. I met a couple a long time ago that rescued a corgi and that was the first time I got to actually interact with one and I was instantly in love. I haven't done much research on them except for the fact that they are cattle dogs, meant to be on a farm, they've been around for 3,000 years and queen Elizabeth owned I think 6 of them.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I would love to go to the park, on trips, car rides, take him to work to hang out with the other dogs. (Dog friendly office) Buy him a pupachino from starbucks, hang out at home, play in the backyard and just enjoy the time I have with my dog.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Im not a punishment type of person so their would not be any "Crate time" hitting or scolding. Im assuming "mistake" means peeing in the house, at first I'd try to do some research on how to fix that and work with him, if that fails id probably seek a trainer to help me understand him and why he's making these "Mistakes"

He will get daily walks, multiple time s a day as well as time in the park, backyard and walks with me to the store as well as maybe a day in the city. I like to walk so he'll definitely be going on walks around the city or Brooklyn just to get out doors.

 While we don’t have experience owning this specific breed, it is one that we absolutely adore. We appreciate how active, curious and affectionate these dogs can be. We’ve done research and feel this breed would be a good fit in our home and hearts

Who is this dog for?

 The dog would be a family dog. We currently have a 11 year old GSD, June (female) and are looking for a smaller dog. We have a 5 and 3 year old at home and are looking to adopt a younger Pembroke.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have previously had a Pembroke and I loved how he was a spazz, but loved to cuddle. I could go out to a field, hit a ball for him, come back inside and we could chill on the couch. It didn't always last long, lol, but it was good while it lasted. He was protective and very intuitive. I enjoyed that about him and was another reason why I like the GSD breed.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We go on walks in the summer and in the winter play lots of catch. The kids are also very much dog lovers and would be sure to include the dog in their games. Our current dog is getting older and doesn't always play tug of war and chase the ball like she use to. She is a great dog, mostly self trained, and I would like for her to show the ropes so to speak to another dog. We worked with her, but she learned so quickly I don't feel right taking the credit for her smarts.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 The Pembroke Welsh Corgi breed is one of my most favorite breeds. Besides the absolutely adorably short legs and spunky attitudes, I love their photogenic, loyal and social nature. I have had short and long interactions with different corgis in my life, and each one I was able to be affectionate and give the corgi a ton of my love. It's been my dream to have a corgi and it's also been a dream of mine to adopt a dog and this opportunity is perfect for me. I've done great amounts of research on the breed, the common health problems, the average lifespan and demeanor. I know they can be playful, outgoing, and at times mischievous but I cannot imagine a more perfect dog for me than a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. My partner, Drew, even conspired with his sister to allow a neighborhood corgi to be my guest of honor at my surprise birthday party this year, and it was incredible.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I dream of lounging on the couch with my Pembroke and relaxing and cuddling. I am very active and love going for walks and runs, and while I know their legs couldn't keep up with a run I'd love to take my Pembroke on nice walks and to the parks near my apartment to be social, get to know other dogs or humans in the neighborhood (if they're comfortable with it) and play with toys, exploring the outdoors. I spend a lot of time in my own home and would love to have a Pembroke keep me company. And if I go anywhere in the city, it's going to be a place that allows my Pembroke to be right by my side.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Mistakes happen. What's most important is how we handle them. If (and when) my Pembroke makes a mistake, I will firmly tell them "No!" and allow my tone of voice to be strict and my facial expression to be clear, but not yelling in any way. After, I will immediately show them the corrective action, and if they continue the behavior in the correct way, I will forgive them and praise them for the right behavior.

 I believe positive reinforcement is the best way to train a dog. By reinforcing with attention, praise and/or treats I believe the dog will learn the most effectively and the quickest.

 During the weekends, there will always be at least one person at home during the day and night at the house. During the weekdays, the corgi will be alone during the day. However, I work a mile from my work and can come home during lunch to visit and ensure they are getting a bathroom break.

 We have a dining room near the kitchen in our apartment where we could set up a permanent eating and drinking spot for our corgi.

Where would dog sleep:
 We would like to put a dog bed in the family room for day sleeping, as well as a dog bed in our bedroom for our corgi to sleep during the night. Wherever he or she feels the most comfortable, we will let them sleep there. Again, we also have a crate if that is the best option, but we don't want them to feel confined.

Play & exercise:
 I will give our corgi a 30 minute walk in the morning and then take them to the park and on a walk in the afternoon to get exercise and play time in. Then we will go on one more walk before bed time. I'm always going on walks in my neighborhood and would love to bring my corgi with me. I will also spoil my corgi with all the toys he or she could need to keep them actively engaged at home while we're not outside or on a walk or at the park.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		I would use positive reinforcement when training or correcting a mistake with my corgi. I would reward when my dog is doing good and not acknowledge my pet when it is doing bad. If it is a mistake I would understand that and no punishment is needed

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I love the animal itself, the energetic spirit that is intellectual and commanding in any occasion. I've been to a few LakeShore Pembroke Welsch Corgi shows, talked with several of the owners of the dogs to get a feel for how they behave, their needs and how they need to interact. I've wanted a Corgi for several years and held off because I wanted to really make sure I was ready to commit myself to a furry family member. Through a number of online articles, several books and talking with friends (and strangers who are walking them) about their Corgi, I feel I am well equipped to begin this process and welcome home a bundle of joy.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 There wouldn't be many activities I wouldn't do with my Pembroke. However, I would run, hike, go to dog parks, travel, stay in, sleep and eat with my Pembroke. This animal is more than an animal to me, it is an extension of my spirit and a family member.

 Ideally with me in the condo or out and about. I work in the city but I have several roommates that have closer work environments that can assist in taking care of the Corgi.
