 We love that corgis are smart and affectionate and have a lot of personality. And curious…and cute! We took care of a family member’s corgi for a number of months and fell in love with her. And have noticed similar characteristics in others.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We are previous owners of a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Ein. Ein was 11 years old this past May when he crossed rainbow bridge. We are very familiar with the breed and enjoy everything about them. They are very smart and loyal and have such a personality!

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 He would accompany us on family walks and trips. When not outside, he or she would be snuggled on the couch or asleep in one of the beds. With our hours, often times we would take our dog on errands with us.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		When our Ein chewed our vaccumm cleaner cord, we brought him back to the "crime scene" and said no! in a firm voice & showed him his toys instead. We stay calm because we want the dog to respect us, not fear us.

 We believe in repetition and firm, simple commands. We do not believe in violent (hitting, beating, etc) methods, but rather work with the dog to understand our commands and be rewarded with positive reinforcement. Squirt bottles and time outs are also used by use

Who is this dog for?

 This corgi is for my husband and I. We were blessed to live with my Pippin for five years. He passed away six weeks ago and it's so quiet and empty in the the house without a corgi. He was a red and white and was the sweetest little boy ever. I would like to give another corgi a forever home. My Pippin was a rescue as well. We are retired, have the ability to care for a dog the way they should be. He or she would sleep with us, hang out, garden, vacation, watch tv, go walking, just like my little boy did. My nephew told me that he'd like to come back in the next life as my dog because of the care I give them.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My Pippin was my first corgi. He was a rescue, he taught me to love the breed and now I can't see my life without at least one corgi. My little boy was my heart dog that passed at age 11 from a nasal tumor. I need some time to heal my heart so I can be ready for my next little buddy, but I am patient and I know I can give another corgi a great life.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We would walk in the park, down to the lake, take him or her on errands (weather permitting). I don't leave dogs in cars when it's hot. I would like to teach some scent training, some agility, play in the house, watching tv, just treat them as a full family member.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Had a friend with corgis and fell in love with the breed.
I adopted a fluffy pembrook from mn rescue.
My last corgi was 7or 8 when I got her from Kansas. She was amazing recovered to full activity from near death rescue. She didn’t bark for the first year I had her.
She loved snow I had her for 4 1/2 years. Then she had total paralysis and muscle wasting from waist down.

Training as able to visit schools there is a program in twin cities kids reading to dogs corgis are the right height
If that’s an option maybe they could visit seniors also, memory care and assisted living. I know that these aspirations are long time in coming

Who is this dog for?

 We currently have a 1 year old Corgi named Sonni, she is great with other dogs and cats. She is very playful and we would like to extend our home to another corgi so they both could have a friend.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have been extremely pleased with my experience with Sonni, Her energy level is perfect for me in my home. We enjoy playing her, with her size we are not worried she will break anything or cause too much damage. Her breed is also great with young children and other dogs which is very important because we enjoy visiting family/friends, Travel, and dog parks.

 My Male Corgi was adorable. I took him from a parent who had to move. I read about the breed when he passed and the things I loved like his silly looks, stubbornness, human like,, protective & watchful of me, he really was loyal. I miss his energy. Just chill. Oh and the butt!

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We want a corgi because we love their goofy playful big personalities. We are huge fans of how they can fill a room and become the center of attention. It matches who we are as people and love the idea of having a dog that matches us.

 Walks, fetch, we have a dog park down the street from our house that we want to take it to. We plan to take the dog to outings with our friends and family, as long as it feels comfortable, to help socialize. Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		We are flexible on how we handle these situations and are looking to learn from the teachers at obedience training as we are not exactly professionals.

Sophia has done obedience training with her previous dog, but understands every breed is different. She previously had Shih Tzu (which she put through obedience training) which can also be a stubborn breed but is not sure if they should be handled the same way.
