Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We currently have a 1 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi called Wally. We both love the breed. A big dog in a small package. Wally was our first corgi, and while we researched, we learned a lot just by having him home with us. We love how intelligent they are, how goofy, loyal and snuggly. Wally never fails to make us laugh daily with his antics. Watching his play or try to herd is our favorite thing about them.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Identify the issue and do positive reinforcement training if necessary. As a puppy, Wally chewed many pairs of shoes. Not his fault, our fault for allowing him access and it also indicated that he was bored. So we changed our routine and made sure we were meeting his needs physically and mentally. We would do the same with any dog that enters our home

Discipline:
 We have never disciplined our dog or needed to. If when playing with either us or another dog and they get too rambunctious, we would recall them and redirect. If they are still too high energy, we would crate or put them in an x-pen to give them a quiet safe space to reset.

 Our family home. They would have full run of our 1500sqft house.

 In bed with us (that's where our current corgi sleeps) but we have a ramp for our bed so if they wish, they can sleep on a dog bed in our bedroom.

 At least one 30 minute walk in the morning, then 1hr at a dog park in the evening. Alternatively, we would go on an hour long walk in the evening to let them sniff and get their energy out. We also play at least 30mins regularly with our current dog (fetch is his current favorite).

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We have three young daughters, ages 7, 5, and 3. We'd love to have a smaller, affectionate dog to add to our family. Our current dog, Beau, would also benefit from another dog in the family. I have done some research of the breed and am impressed with dogs I have known from other families. They are loyal, silly, and affectionate, all great qualities in a dog!

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We have 2.5 acres that has an electric fence around. Our dog, Beau, gets plenty of exercise every day running laps around the yard chasing squirrels. We also live on a farm and the dogs join us for chores (chickens and cattle) and occasionally hop in the truck with my husband for coffee at the shop or in the tractor for a ride. There are two other dogs as well on the farm that belong to family members, so it's important for our next dog to play well with others! The most important thing, though, is for our next dog to get along well with small kids. We do not want any dogs who might show aggression. Because I am a stay-at-home-mom our dogs are rarely left alone.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		As in accident? We say "no", and quickly take the dog outside. Hope to catch them in the act so they can finish outside. Then praise if they go outside.

Discipline:
 Most often a stern "no" works fine. I have also used a spray water bottle on a dog that wouldn't stop jumping on people. We prefer good training and lots of praise for doing the right things.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Depends on the mistake. If it is being aggressive around visitors, we would need to crate the dog. If it a potty-training issue we would work on signals (bell at door or bark to notify) so the mistake would not happen again. If it is eating shoes and furniture, well, the shoes can be put up so they wouldn't reach them. The furniture would be treated with an animal safe deterrent spray.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Family and family friends have owned Pembroke Welsh Corgis for years that we watch on a regular basis (aged between 1-6 years old). We are a young active couple under 30 years old that have been waiting for the right time to get an animal with adequate space which we now have. We have done thorough research and found Lakeshore Pembroke Welsh Corgi Rescue through the AKA. We enjoy the energy and compassion Corgi's have for their owners as well as other humans living in a populated areas.
