Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have always thought that the breed was super cute. Recently I dog sat for a family with a Pembroke and fell even more in love with the breed. I have done my research on the breed and I am no rookie to owning pets.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I plan on taking my dog anywhere I can with me. This would include travel and hiking. I’m not a long distance hiker but I do like to adventure and I’d like to have a furry companion by my side.

 I’ve learned that you really need to use positive reinforcement to get a dog to understand what they need to do. Although us pet owners love to believe our pets are human their are different ways to handle when an animal does something wrong. Instead of really punishing the dog I feel that redirection is a better way to handle things.

 most of the time my Pembroke would be with me at my home, their may be an occasion that I stay at a friends and they come stay with me there.

 There is one cat living in the house, so she will need a dog that doesn't mind cats. She lives in a mobile home but has a small yard and a big back field with a pond where the dog can run and play. Because she is in a mobile home area, there are a fair amount of people around. She would need a dog that doesn't mind other people and potential run ins with other dogs. She would be happy to take the dog with her in the car (the few times she goes places) if the dog likes cars, but if not, she is at home mostly so the dog would rarely be alone.

 My grandmother. She lost her previous dog a few years ago and her husband recently and is ready to get another furry companion!

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I (Molly) who is filling out this application for my grandmother, have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I got him at 8 weeks old and he is nearly a year old now. He has been a wonderful companion and has an amazing personality! I did a lot of research on the breed prior to getting one to be sure that my lifestyle fit the dog as well as the dog's lifestyle fitting me. I also have spent considerable time around corgis as I have a friend who is a breeder. I've interacted with newborn corgis up to corgis a few years old. One at a time up to 5 at a time. I have good faith that the right corgi could be a wonderful companion for my grandma. She has had dogs most of her life and she is a fantastic pet owner. She has always taken care of her dogs and watched out for them even better than herself. She loves her pets and spoils them, but only to the point of it being a good thing. Her dogs have never been overweight or unhealthy. She has kept up with vaccinations and annual vet visits also. She has even made difficult choices for her dogs' end of life care to ensure that the do not suffer. This dog will be the center of her world and she would love nothing more than to love it, play with it, and give it the best life!

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		My grandma is firm but kind. She uses a stern tone to tell the dog "no" but never hits or pulls the dog. She also usually has the dog toy basket in the living room so it is close by for redirection.

 Probably in the bedroom on a dog bed next to my grandma.

 Walks around the trailer park and out to the pond. There is a big field with a walkway out to a little pond right behind my grandma's house that they have always used as a dog walk/exercise area. If the corgi likes water, he/she is also able to swim in the pond. The field is large enough for running and playing fetch. A lot of the family members have dogs and/or children that would also love to play with her dog. She has many visitors because we all help her with errands and keeping up with the house.

 This Pembroke is for Aidan Reyes and Yesenia Montes. A mother and son who have been wanting and searching for a pembroke for a very long time

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We want to adopt a Corgi because we've been looking for dogs to adopt for about a year now and have been having trouble in deciding which breed we want to get. We found that Corgis best fit our time schedules and run with our time better than any dog. We know that Corgis are high maintenance dogs and require alot of attention, we're also aware of their shedding periods throughout the years, plus we learned about the issues that come with training and potty training.  I and Jeremiah Jack. Jeremiah Jack is my 5 month old Pembroke/Cardigan Corgi whom needs a partner in crime to keep me more busy.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My daughter had a Pembroke/boarder collie mix Corgi for years growing up and as an adult until he passed away a couple years ago. We miss Axel so much but it took a couple years before I found one again and now I'm ready for another too. I'm a empty nester and can have a couple little nuggets around for company to spoil and keep me super busy!

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We had a Corgi/Pom mix rescue for 9 years. She was wonderful. She sadly recently passed away in April 2021. Throughout our time with her, we fell in love with the Corgi breed, and began to do further research on pure bred Corgis. We are looking for another lovable family pet, one that is playful and loyal. We feel that our research (and experience with a "half" Corgi) has led us to seek out the Corgi breed specifically.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Our single-family home has a large, fully fenced-in backyard in a fairly quiet neighborhood in the southwestern Chicago suburbs. We have always enjoyed taking our dog on leashed walks around the neighborhood sidewalk blocks, as well as enjoying cuddle time and playtime outside in the backyard.
