Who is this dog for?

 It is fo me and my fiance. We have no kids and no other dogs, just a small parrot.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have always thought that corgis were adorable dogs, but have gotten to know corgis that one of my friend’s owns and fell in love with their fun, happy personalities as well. I love that corgis are smart and respond well to obedience training. All corgis that I have met seem like wonderful and loyal companions to their owners; the research I’ve done seems to indicate that most of the breed are like this. However, as much as I love corgis, I’m committed to adopting a dog that needs a home instead of buying a dog. That’s why I’m hoping to adopt from your organization.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 This would depend on the dog’s preferences, but could include long walks, trips to the dog park/dog beach, agility training, cuddles on the couch, sitting outside on the porch, etc.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		As new dog owners, we intend to take our dog to training and learn the best strategies to handle a mistake. However, I’ve seen friends with dogs use strategies like making a high-pitched noise when the dog nips, or ignoring the dog so he knows that he’s done something wrong.

Discipline:
 I shared some of the methods I’m familiar with in the previous answer. I’ve also done some research and think that using time outs may be a good option. Ultimately, I think I will need to get to know the dog and what he responds to. This is another reason that I think getting training will be helpful.

 In our 3 bedroom two bathroom condo, which also has a large outdoor patio for fresh air, a shared front yard, and is near several parks for walks.

 Currently both my fiancé and I work from home full time. That will be changing as things open up again, but we will both likely have some days from home and will plan to alternate so that someone will be home most of the time. On days when that is not possible, we have friends who live a few blocks away who also work from home and have said they’d be happy to check in and take our dog for a walk. We are also open to bringing the dog to daycare or hiring a dog walker.

Where would dog eat?
 In our kitchen.

Where would dog sleep:
 In the living room, guest room, or our bedroom. We will get the corgi it's own bed and see where he prefers to have it set up. One of our guestrooms currently "belongs" to the parrot. The other could be the corgi's room if he needs his own space, or he could stay in our room.

Play & exercise:
 I will take the corgi on walks and let him play at the dog ark/dog beach. The level of exercise will be dependent on the dog we get. If he’s very active we will provide more activity than if he’s more of a couch potato.

Who is this dog for?

 The Corgi would be for me. I had a rescue Rottie for a while who has since crossed the rainbow bridge. I have a small black lab mix and I've been volunteering, fostering, and transporting for CILRA (Centeral Indiana Lab Rescue). I have plenty of references if you'd like to browse them. I'm a dog lover and rescuer through and through.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I've done research on the breed. I've always wanted a Corgi, they're like a bread load with legs. I would also like a smaller breed dog due to physical limitations.
