Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I am a high energy person- and I have heard that corgis are high energy, affectionate, and love having something to do. Sadly the only experience I’ve had with the breed is minimal interaction with my neighbors two corgis.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 I love being outside so any outdoor activities that are considered safe (as every dog is different) would be something I’d love. Luckily I live in a very pet friendly area and near a dog park. However I am open to indoor activities if that is in the dogs best interest.

Who is this dog for?

 This Pembroke is for Frank Riehl who has been people partner to seven Corgis over the past 20 years. It may be more truthful that this Pembroke is for Ed, Frank's 15 year old Corgi. Frank and Ed have typically had 3-4 Corgi partners in the house at once. My name is Bill and Frank is a dear friend to me and my family (wife, Deb and daughter, Kari.) Frank, Ed, and I spend most of each day together. I mention this because Frank is 77 years old and should this new member of the family outlive Frank he or she would seamlessly transition be part of our family.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Our Pembrokes have been very affectionate and playful dogs. The cardigans have been somewhat playful and even protective but less affectionate. I love their attentiveness and their own joy for companionship.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 In the house we play games on the floor – they really can get silly. Outside we can walk literally for miles. We have some great trails where we walk in nature. We have a goat farm we visit and all the corgis have had a great time there!

 Live-in couple of four years 🙂 we both recently lost our childhood dogs and are excited to have a furry friend of our own soon.

 We love their short little legs and tail wiggles. They have such great personalities and always seem to be smiling. Lynette has dogsat for multiple Corgis before and fell in love with each of them. They are like cute little bread loaves lol.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 Corgi’s are absolutely adorable. We have done research. We have both have had limited personal experience with the breed. We both gravitate towards larger dogs, but we really want to be mindful of our cat. Once we have the long and gradual introduction, if our cat is afraid or annoyed of the new dog, we want her to be able to escape to higher ground when she feels she needs to. We enjoy walks and hiking and we know they are a working dog and could keep up with that. We know they are smart and want to take full advantage of that with training! My parents were always very good with training our dogs so I want to follow in their footsteps. I love dogs with the double coats, we know they are extra maintenance. I am willing to do the brushing so I can enjoy the poof 🙂

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Walks and hiking! Spending time outside in our yard (will be fenced in April 2021) and dog parks for socialization. We do not have friends with dogs currently in our area. Would do different types of training, would do an obedience training course. Mentally stimulating toys. Lots of cuddles.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have not had direct experience with the breed. We love the family oriented characteristics of the Corgi. They are loving, family oriented, energetic, protective and easy to train. While personalities vary, they are down right adorable.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		This depends on the dogs personality. With my pit Bull, I was able to tap his nose and say no and he stopped. Not with pressure but to say: I’m here, listen to me.

 I’ve never had a “bad” dog that resulted in full discipline. I trained my Pit, I took him to obedience classes to learn to calm him down. It took patience and stillness. As a example to get him to walk calmly, I would stand there until he calmed. When he was calm I would start walking. If he tried pulling in excitement we stopped walking. He learned through motion and treats to walk nice.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
 Any place he wants to go. We do not limit our house to our animals. They chose what room they want to be in.

 I have friends that had corgis, I always liked their dogs. The personality reminds us of our son. We have read a lot about the breed.
