 So cute. We have done lots of research on the breed. I also like the temperament.

 We would go on walks and run with it. We live in a neighborhood that has many dogs. We live near a park with a big field. We also live two blocks from Lake Michigan and can take the dog to the beach before hours. We also play softball and would love to throw the ball for the dog every day.

 Since we haven’t had a dog before, we would need to learn these methods from a professional. We also have many friends who have dogs.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
 We have a three floor house, with a yard. The dog would be mostly on the first floor since we do not have carpeting on the stairs. If this were a significant issue we could find a way to carpet the stairs, or get treads. Since we have a fenced in yard, the dog could spend as much time as they wanted outdoors.

 We would like to add a smaller dog to our family and think Corgis are just so adorable. We have plenty of room inside and outside (including a big fenced yard) for our dogs to run around and play. We’ve never owned a corgi before but think our family is a good fit for their temperament.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 The breed is playful and loyal. I love the size and the uniqueness of their body type and coloring. I have had the chance to dog sit for a variety of dogs over the years and feel in love with the Corgi. I have done a fair amount of research on their lifestyle and grooming as well as their house needs and play.

 I want a corgi because I believe that they’re the cutest doggos. My brother has one and I’ve taken cere of his when he would go on vacations, etc.

 I am a believer in giving alternative things (if the dog has something in their mouth, show a toy/treat to drop what’s in their mouth already). With dogs it’s more trial and error to see how they reach to “discipline”. I’ve been doing a lot of research so far!

Who is this dog for?

 Me! I have been contemplating a Corgi for quite sometime, and now am at the perfect point in my life to give my companion the love, time, and care not only required, but deserved.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My girlfriend’s family has two 8 year old Pembrokes. During the COVID-19 quarantine, I spent 2 straight months at her parents house. I quickly fell in love with the breed. Specifically their intelligence combined with loyalty to their humans! I grew up with Labs, and corgis remind me a lot of a mini lab.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Everything. As long as their stubbornness allows it haha! Would love for the dog to be active enough to go on walks, enjoy fetching tennis balls, and being outside all seasons of the year. My family has a cottage on a lake, so it would be great if the dog is a swimmer or likes swimming, as there will be LOTS of opportunity for that. And of course, I’d be very happy with a cuddler who likes to sit by their owner on the couch and around the house.

During those times, my family has always used vocal discipline through the key word “No”. I plan on doing this as well. We are also big on all the key things like taking away what they shouldn’t be chewing on and replacing with what they should be, then praising them for that. I mean, context is probably important in this question.
