Why do you want a Pembroke?
 As with most people I have always been drawn to the adorable appearance of the Corgi and I want to be transparent. Upon further research, I also found they are a great fit for my lifestyle. When thinking about a dog I want one that I am able to take on walks and play with but that does not have so much energy I would not be able to keep up with them. As someone who has grown up with dogs, I also know that corgis tend to be characterized as "fun-loving, and easygoing" which would fit right in with my lifestyle. I am aware that there are health concerns with this bread and that they were originally bred to be herd animals. Both of these have been taken into consideration when deciding to apply.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 As stated before I have done a significant amount of research and the first thing I would want to do is begin training classes with the dog. I would ideally want them to be able to be social with other dogs during these classes (covid permitting) as I know they are social animals. I would also commit to being outside with them daily in order to help them expel energy and get exercise. I also would simply enjoy being with my dog, providing them with love, attention, and toys.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		I think it would be imperative to stay calm and try to work more on positive rewards and reinforcement. I would also make a note that it was something I, as the owner, would need to work on in training.

 Rob had a corgi growing up. Cathi and Rob have had two wonderful corgis who grew old and passed. We love corgis because they are smart and sassy. They can be independent but also loving and great companions

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 This breed has been recommended to me by several friends as well as our vet. We would like a smaller dog, but also one that can still be active with us on adventures. I love their friendly personality and ease of socialization. Additionally we have dog sat our friend's corgi in the past and Fable was a great addition to the family.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We like to take our dogs to the local nature trails (but nothing too strenuous since our other dog is a senior). We live in a very quiet pocket neighborhood in rural Michigan so daily walks around our little neighborhood are a must. Additionally we live on water so swimming (if the dog likes it) or chasing a ball into the water are fun depending on the dog's desires. Also lots of boating on the pontoon, kayaks, etc.

 The Pembroke would be for me.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My research has led me to a few conclusions and has informed my choice on adopting a corgi. First, corgis are very loyal. This is a trait I desire in a pet. I want to form a strong bond with my pet, and I think a corgi would fit this well. Second, corgis are energetic and love to play. As a person who is more active than the average American but who could still benefit from having more motivation to be active, a corgi is a perfect match in that respect. I look forward to going on walks, runs, and playing outdoor games if I was to adopt. Third, my research states that the breed would make a good fit for my living situation. I live in a house with roommates. My roommates are supportive of the idea, and the corgi would benefit from the extra social interaction. Finally, I have found they are good therapeutic pet. Owning a corgi would come with it's stressors—as would owning any dog—but the benefits would outweigh the costs. In short, I would be able to connect with a corgi as a pet, we have matching levels of energy/activity, the corgi would do well in my living situation, and owing one would benefit my mental health.

 I live in a student co-op. In short, my house is own by a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing to students. I pay rent to this company. Concerning pets, they are allowed in some houses, but in some houses the pets are required to be registered as an Emotional Support Animal (ESA). I have already talked with my therapist, and she is willing to make my pet an ESA as soon as possible. In short, my landlord allows me to have a pet.

 The house has an open backyard and front yard. There is a flower bed in the backyard along with a picnic table. Note: anytime that my dog would be outside, they would be supervised and be on a leash.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I love corgis. I love how they always look like they are smiling and that they are like big dogs in smaller bodies. They are always up for an adventure but aren't too large taking up room in the car/house. I love their spunky personalities and how cute they are. I currently have a corgi that I love and I would like to have another dog similar in size for him to play with.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Take for walks, camping, out on the boat and swimming (my current corgi enjoys the water and has his own floatie), car rides, etc.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		I will correct it by showing them what they should have, or what they should have done if applicable. If it happened in the past like a few hours ago, I may show them the mistake and ask "who did this?" (they also seem to know and get a little guilty) and/or say a stern "no" and then move on.

 Often times if I catch my dog in the middle of doing something naughty I will say no with a stern voice or do like a louder "eh eh eh" sound and he will stop and then I will take what he has and stop there. I do not tend to show too much anger as I don't want him to feel like he is being challenged with aggression. I can tell he knows he did wrong. I focus on rewarding good behavior like when he allows me to take what he is chewing.

 In our house, will definitely be crate trained but will not be in the crate for long periods of time.
