Who is this dog for?

 We are looking to expand our family with the addition of a Pembroke. It is currently just us, (Reem and Chris) with an addition of an older cat Ernie. We do hope to have children in the future.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We would like to adopt a Pembroke Welsh Corgi based on our research and past interactions with Corgis. Based on our research corgi's are an intelligent, active, friendly breed that will be a great companion. Corgi's are people orientated, and typically get along fine with other pets and children. As they are herding dogs they enjoy learning tricks and require mental simulation as well as physical stimulation. We love the fact that these dogs are able to learn different tricks and enjoy spending time together doing activities. We also love their size since we would be able to take them to different stores. We prefer to take our corgi with us every where that we are able to and is appropriate. Chris has a coworker that was able to bring his corgi to work, the corgi was well behaved and was able to spend the day in the office with no issues.

 The activities we would do are bike rides, walks, visiting dog parks, playing fetch, learning new tricks, playing with toys, cuddles and going on doggy play dates.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		If the Pembroke made a mistake, we will be quick to try to make it right and praise the good behavior. For example, if an accident happens inside the house, I will immediately take the dog outside and praise them when they use the bathroom. Based on my research, Corgis are prone to digging, chewing if they are left alone or not exercised enough. We believe its important to have toys and activities to channel the Pembroke's energy.

Discipline:
 We believe in positive reinforcement as the best and most effective method of discipline. We do have a trainer in mind, that has come highly recommended. She has an PhD in Animal Cognition and works with Paws for Life. If the Pembroke is displaying any type of behavior that needs to be corrected, we would hire her to help provide training.

 We are currently working from home indefinitely. If we were to return to the office, the Pembroke would go to the office with Chris as it is pet friendly.

 We will take the corgi on walks and to play fetch. We currently live in a condo, but are looking to a purchase a home soon with a fenced yard. There is a safe area to take the corgi on walks , and a closed fenced area to play fetch. We also would create other methods for the corgi to play with such as a ball pit. We will also provide lots of toys to play with and opportunities to train on new tricks. We will dedicate 1-2 hours a day on physical exercise.

 11 years ago adopted a full blooded Pembroke from my local shelter, he was my dog, friend and pal till a little over a month ago. When I lost him to old age.

 We took a lot of personality test to help find a bread that pair best with us. Pembroke Corgi kept coming up as a match. Our current corgi been ba great active addition to our family.

 We have had two corgis before and we love their quirky personalities. We also love how intelligent and loyal they are.

 Since we know it’s not good for a corgi to jump up too much, we would have a bed by ours or if they wanted to, they could sleep in their crate.

 We have a very large fenced yard so they would be able to play outside several times a day and they would be walked at least once a day If the pavement is not too hot or it’s too cold outside.
