 My brother loves how cute and soft they are. My cousin had two corgis before and they were energetic and loved to play, but when they knew it was time to sleep they would snuggle up with us. I researched that they are loud and can have some attitude problems, but with patience and training they can be really good friends.

 We are a married couple in our early thirties. We would love to welcome a puppy to our new home. We will run and play with a puppy on a daily basis and provide a good home for the new family member

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 They are smart and cute dogs that are very adaptable to their environment. I love their big personalities. I was a pet setters corgis of my friends and my experience has been positive. I have done research on the breed and know that they shed, bark and bite since they are herding dogs. Nevertheless as smart dogs they can be taught good behavior easily

 I spent a lot of time with my grandparents growing up and they and their neighbors had corgi that I loved to play with. I liked how energetic and active they were, as well as how small and snuggly they could be. I've had dogs my whole life, and have been hoping my first as an adult would be a corgi.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We would love to adopt a Pembroke Welsh Corgi for their loving nature and big personalities! There are a few corgis that live in our building that our dog could socialize frequently with, and our experience with these corgis makes us appreciate their breed even more. We love that they are great with people and they are also adorable.

 We would go on frequent daily walks as well as have our Pembroke socialize with other dogs in our building's dog run and at the neighborhood dog park. We have a lot of dog friendly bars/establishments in our neighborhood which would make taking our Pembroke out with us easy. Who is this dog for?

 The Pembroke is for my husband and I. We had the pleasure of having a Pembroke as one of our family for 13 wonderful years, and are now looking to adopt another who needs a good home. We truly appreciate this fun loving, fearless, utterly loyal and loving personality. As previous German Shepherd breeder and trainers, we always said it was like having a big dog in a little dog's body. My husband and I are ready to devote the time and love to this new possible addition to our family.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 As a previous Pembroke Welsh Corgi owner, we have experienced the endearing personality of the PWC. We have memories of our 7 year old son showing Amber in 4H obedience and him not doing well as a young handler being outsmarted by her, but then taking first in the show ring as she loved the audience and attention. Amber ruled the roost with our German Shepherds, using them for a pillow for her naps and taking their chew toys out of their mouths just because she wanted to. Amber was always up for anything – long walks, cross country skiing, and snuggling during naps. She always had to say hello to everyone she met, so excited to make new friends. And yet, when she saw something she saw as a threat, her deep growl alerted us to the concern.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 With my husband retired, we have plenty of spare time to spend with a new dog. Since we indicated that we'd be open to all age ranges other than puppy, this would depend upon the Pembroke's physical status. Walks are always top priority in any kind of weather. We've trained dogs in obedience and to track, and a corgi is motivated by food(need to be careful about no weight gain here) and likes to ground scent. While COVID-19 is still a concern, socialization for any dog is important.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		This depends upon the age and training status. Dogs need to be first taught what behaviors are expected. A strong foundation of rewarding correct behaviors consistently through praise needs to happen first before any behavior is considered a "mistake". I mentioned earlier that Pembrokes are typically motivated by food and small treats can be used as a motivator. Again, these treats need to be calculated into the dog's overall diet so as not to overfeed. Pembrokes can become overweight which is a significant health concern.

Discipline:
 Distraction is a great technique for a young or active dog needing to be redirected. Sometimes bad behavior is out of boredom or needing attention which needs to be countered rather than disciplined. We provide our dogs with open and undisturbed access to a crate and toys. Discipline is actually repetitive and praised correct behavior. A sharp tone of voice can indicate our displeasure with certain actions such as nipping.

 We love to play games – fetch, hide and seek a favorite toy. Have already discussed training and exercise. Since my husband is home, opportunities to play are abundant.
While we do not have a fenced in yard, we have 1.5 acres of land. Our dogs have been perimeter trained, but we always stay outside whenever our dogs are out, never leaving them unattended. We do have outdoor runs for when we've had german shepherds even though they were house dogs too, should we choose to use them.
