 I would like to adopt a Pembroke Welsh Corgi because of their loving nature, goofy personalities and comfort they bring their companions. I've been around corgis before and enjoy their demeanor and the instant smile it brings to individuals faces when they see them.  When my kids were little, we had a mix that turned out to have corgi in him and he was the best dog ever! A small dog with a big dog heart. Our condos only allow dogs up to 25 lb dogs and think this kind of dog would be perfect.

 Hello, my name is Donna Kirk and I live in St. Louis MO. I have been a two-time corgi owner, and just lost my last wonderful boy on Feb 2 of this year at the age of 12. I’m finally ready to fill that huge hole in my home and heart that was left after saying goodbye to Dewey. Both of my previous boys were from a breeder in Michigan. I'm now thinking about adopting a rescue corgi. Of the two rescue groups in Missouri one is not currently adopting and the other has one dog on PetFinder that does not sound like a good match. Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		It depends on what the mistake is. Was it my fault? Had he been left to his own devices for too long? Was he bored? I look to the source for the mistake before penalizing the dog. If he was wrong, I fix the source of the mistake -take it out of the equation for next time. If he has something he shouldn't, I give him something else to focus on. I use positive reinforcement in training.

Discipline:
 Discipline?, or training? Consistency, positive reinforcement, exercise are the best methods for keeping a dog our of trouble. My discipline is a matter of immediate response with a firm NO and then redirect to the appropriate behavior following up with praise (and treats where needed).

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
 Near my feet, likely. He will have beds a plenty. Depending on his training, while I'm away he may be in a crate if he feels more secure there. If not, he will have run of the house if he is trustworthy and feels secure there.

 My back yard is long, approx. a 1/4 acre, with trees and little landscape. Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We're dog lovers in general, but have really been drawn to Corgis. We've done some research on the breed, and they seem like the perfect dog to welcome into our home while we're apartment living. We like that they're active but also don't need to be on the move constantly. All of our experiences with Corgis have been that they are a friendly, somewhat self-sufficient breed which is pretty perfect for our current lifestyle.

Once is a mistake and would certainly require addressing, not necessarily discipline. But we'd need to make sure to communicate that the action was a mistake so that he/she would learn from it.

 Myself, I am a single college student looking for a corgi.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I had a friend that had a corgi and I fell in love. From my experiences they are very loving and fun dogs. It is my dream dog. I love their stubby leg and goofy personalities.

 I would like to go on walks, snuggle, and play around. I would take my corgi out a lot to cool places for walks.
