Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We love the look of the breed, and have spoken with other corgi owners about their usual temperament and are satisfied that they would be a good fit for our household. We have done and are currently still doing research on the breed to understand them better.

 Yes. Kelsey works 6-2 and Dan work anywhere from 7-4 to 1:30-11:30. The corgi will never be home alone for more than a few short hours. We also live less than a mile from a playmate so they can stay there if it's an extended period

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		We like to watch The Dog Whisperer, so would use some of the tactics Caesar uses with the dogs there. We never "spank" our Cocker spaniel, or rub her nose in anything and would not do so with a Corgi.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I love dogs that have a will of their own and are intelligent. Our current dog has the intelligence and will of her Corgi side and we love her as a companion. I have researched the breed quite extensively and it seems it would be a good fit for us.

 He would have plenty of space to play as we live a very large plot of land. He would also be associating with our current pets and would hopefully be a reliable friend and protege of our current pet.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		If "mistake" is meant as a house training issue, then we would begin scheduling regular walks and times outside to accommodate bathroom breaks. As far as a mistake in general such as disobeying a command or something like that, we would attempt to correct the behavior with positive reinforcement towards it's opposite.

 For the most part, I wouldn't say that we ever discipline our dogs other than using command words to direct them. We feel a trained dog that can understand "No" and "Leave it" while also receiving positive reinforcement for obeying commands is the best way make us and them happy.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We have decided that a Pembroke Welsh Corgi would satisfy the qualities that we both would like in a dog. We have done research and like the fact that they are active, smart and loving. It was important to us that they can be trained and are a smart breed. We look forward to obedience classes and having a very well trained dog. We also enjoy being active and look forward to going on walks on a daily basis. One other quality that was important was their overall size and build of a small, but sturdy dog.

 We would plan the most to use positive reinforcement with the dog so they especially understand what they should do. We also understand that they need to hear NO and possibly need some down time and alone time in a crate if they are acting up or even possibly a walk to let go of some energy.

 They would spend most of their time in the our home. Depending on where we are and what is planned they will either be in their crate when we are gone or spending time with us in the yard or in the home when we are home.

Who is this dog for?

 It will be a family dog, however the dog will be for our 12 year old daughter. My husband is a stay at home dad and we are fully prepared to help her with the new dog. She actually takes very good care of our other furr-baby.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My daughter is in love with them! Yes, we've all done the research…we owned a corgi mix as well (a corgi-basset hound who was insanely cute). The size is perfect, the fact that she can train the dog, it will cuddle with her and be "her" dog. Our existing dog was originally my dad's rescue. He passed away shortly after her rescue, so she came to our house and while she loves and considers our daughter her sheep, she prefers me or my hubs.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Well, my existing dog ate my anniversary filet mignon and all i did was yell at her and took it away. I mean, I yelled a lot. I even cursed at her. I might have asked her if she wanted to die…but that was all. Her punishment was not getting to finish the steak.

 Dogs are like 3 year olds… you have to discipline in the moment. Lots of "no." Lots of redirection. If they piddle on the floor, you have to tell them no and show them outside (not as punishment or isolation). Dogs know when you are not happy with them.
