Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My family had a Corgi when we were kids, and he was just a great family dog. Other than being adorable, we like their size, gameness, and trainability. Working in a vet clinic we see quite a few Corgis, and they're usually good dogs with minimal aggression issues and they're decently healthy dogs.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Walks, hikes, and visiting lots of parks, we bring our dog everywhere with us that we can. I wouldn't mind getting into obedience competitions or agility, but we're fine with a couch potato as well.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Depends on the mistake and why it happened and the temperment of the dog. If it's biting or something more serious, training would be needed but if it's something silly like knocking something over, things like that happen and can be ignored.

Discipline:
 Fair corrections with a leash and collar, but it really depends on the temperment of the dog. After dogs know what "no" means a lot of corrections can be a simple word. For example our Grey is confident but came to us after biting the previous adopter's child and with food aggression issues, so for him I corrected by bopping him with a towel when he snarled, and rewarding him heavily for making good choices or allowing food to be taken away. I realize that not every dog needs a physical correction, and there are a million ideas on Purely Positive vs. Balanced training, but I have found balanced training works best. Fair corrections and fair rewards while respecting the dog and preserving their dignity is my go-to.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
 In the house

Discipline:

 We walk Chief daily already, usually at least an hour a day but he's pretty lazy. There's a dog park nearby, but I've found there are lots of unstable dogs there, so we usually go to a local state park instead for harder exercise a couple times a week.
So daily exercise until tired, and mental stimulation – obstacles, training, games or ball.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I've loved the Corgi breed sense I was a child. Family friends had several and I've had lots of time growing up getting to know them. I grew up with a Gold Retriever and I know thats very different but I believe it also provided experience and knowledge of expectations for a friend like that. I've done lots of research and I was originally looking for only a puppy, but my eyes and opened and I feel open to any age of such a new friend.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Morning/Lunch/Evening walks. Visiting dog parties my friends often have. Lots of trips to the dog Park. (We have many in and around Madison.) I'm single and live alone, there would be ample time for general affection. (I'm also an extremely active person myself, runs/walks/working out I believe the breed fits nicely with my own personality.)

Discipline:
 No hitting. Its important to be firm and strong while teaching, but positivist goes a long way. I've always found that Honey always goes over better than Vinegar.

 With me or at home when I'm at work or in the office. I've I'm leaving town my friends have already offered to home him/her. They are all dog owners themselves, I've always watched them when they leave town.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		my wife was a 4 h leader for 30 years for a dog obedience club in our are. they would be told no, ask it to sit or down and work with corrective behavior habits.all of our digs have been trained ti ring a bell to go out and are normally off leash expect in public.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My boyfriend and I have always loved corgis. We love how curious they are, their energy, and their lovability. I grew up with dogs always, and I’m excited to have a dog on my own with my boyfriend. We live across the street from a corgi named Rosie and she’s the sweetest pup who we love to spend time with. I also grew up across the street from two corgis. We have done extensive research on the breed and are excited to have one of our own someday.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We will take our corgi on long walks, and will be at the disposal of our dog forever. We will train the dog and make sure that he/she goes to obedience classes where we will both always be there. We will make sure they’re comfortable before taking them to a dog park or bringing them around other dogs. Most of all, we plan on loving the dog to the best of our ability and making sure our dog is the happiest dog ever.

Making sure that we reward for good behavior and that we don’t yell at our corgi when they make a mistake. We will never rub our dog’s nose in its mistake. We will use a firm tone, but make sure that the corgi still feels safe and loved.

 The corgi would be for us. We are a couple, and we have been together for three years. We are moving into a dog friendly apartment in August and having been looking to rescue a corgi.

 I like that corgis tend to be intelligent, trainable, energetic, and the perfect size. There are many corgi meetup groups in Chicago, so our corgi would have a lot of friends.
