Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I’ve always admired the breed and their history. Their energetic and loving personalities are delightful and challenging at the same time. I love the look of the breed as well with their short legs, lush coat and perky ears.

 Walks, going to the dog park, going to dog nights at local events.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		Depending on the mistake, like chewing on a shoe, I’d remove the item and add more toys for the dog to choose from. If they have an accident in the house while I’m gone I will observe for a pattern to see if it’s stress related, behavioral or medical and pursue those options as needed with it either being more frequent trips outside, potty training, time, or going to the vet for a urinalysis.

Discipline:
 Dogs have short attention spans sometimes when it comes to inappropriate urination or destroying objects. If you try to adjust this behavior several hours after the fact they may not be able to link it to the incident. I’d start by removing the involved items and monitoring for further incident. If it continues I’d stop them right away and redirect their behavior elsewhere

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
 Either at home with my other dog Sierra or at the clinic with me

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We were lucky to previously be parents to two male Pems, between Spring 2013 and Fall 2018. We loved the size and weight and demeanor, and just overall characters. They were a good fit for the size of our house and (fenced) backyard.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 With our two previous Pems, we walked three times a day in our neighborhood.
Neither one was much into playing fetch, but did love to chase each other, or Tom and I, around the backyard….warm weather or snow.
We liked taking the boys for rides in the car, visiting friends (mainly human….one of our boys was not super crazy about a lot of dogs).
We would like to be able to take them on vacations, depending on the vacation.

 For both of us, we are looking for an active dog to bring much needed energy and happiness to our home.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I want to adopt a Pemproke because as a kid after meeting one a friend had I instantly fell in love with the breed. We. Love their attitude, their short legs, puffy chests, big ears and pretty much everything else. We also like that they act and behave like a larger herding dog. I have researched Alla out the breed including history and possible health concerns.

Who is this dog for?

 companionship. I live an active life style but am living in an apartment.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I love the personalities of these dogs!!! They're loyal, but independent. They're smart, but not trying to outsmart the owner. I like they they can be social and taken on walks, but are okay in an apartment. My experience with the breed has been through working 5+ years in a vet clinic. I get so excited when they come into the clinic because they're so silly! I've done a lot of research because I truly am fascinated by them. As a future vet, I love to know as much as I can about breed generics, and since I am interested in adopting a corgi I've gone a step further with them. I want to have kids within the next ten years, and I know if I rescue a corgi he or she would be in the picture, too. I know these dogs for the most part are good with kids.

 I like walk/ runs. My apartment has a private dog park, so I would want a corgi I could socialize with other dogs. Its not uncommon that people are walking around vet school with their dogs after hours, so I'd like a dog who would like to come places with me too.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 My husband actually introduced this breed to me. About 10 years ago when we were dating, we were dreaming of our future home and what kind of dog we would want. When he said Corgi I had no clue what he meant. Then he showed me a picture and that’s all it took! We’ve been dreaming of having a corgi in our family ever since! We love dogs in general and would prefer to adopt a rescue pup because we know they need homes. But corgis are typically hard to find so we just figured we may never get one, until I found your organization! We love that they are energetic and like to play, we love their size as we have typically had only larger dogs in our life, and we love their adorable little wiggle butts when they walk!

 We are home-bodies, so on most days we would be hanging out in our large, fenced-in backyard, playing with toys, or taking a walk in our quiet, old, and safe neighborhood, or unwinding with snuggles on the couch after a long day. We love to camp too so we could see some camping adventures in our future!

We don’t hit our dogs but use firm tones with our words when they need to be shown some authority.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 We have close friend that had a Corgi. My kids love them! We are familiar with the breed and have researched their qualities and temperament. We love to train and work with dogs to develop a strong bond.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 We live near a dog park and a park with a field suitable for running. The dog would be walked on a leash daily. I am planning to homeschool my children in the fall which will provide much more time forninteraction with the dog.
