Who is this dog for?	Both of us! And a new brother or sister for our 9 year old dog, Harmony.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	I’m a certified dog trainer and started to fall in love with the breed after doing one-on-one training with a client’s Corgi. They are very intelligent dogs and learn quickly. That makes them a lot of fun and easy to train. I love both their looks and their characteristics. Being herding dogs they have natural behaviors that can be hard for some people, but I find them fun to work with and I like helping them use those natural behaviors to have fun while doing obedience training and just daily mental stimulation activities. They can be wonderful companion dogs, which is something we’re looking for. But I also understand that every Corgi is different and has their own unique personality. While some may be more people-oriented, other may not be. We’re looking for one who is a bit more people-oriented.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	Plenty of walks, hiking if the dog is physically able to do it (Our dog Harmony can’t do much more than 3-4 miles at a time), doing with us to dog parks, learning new tricks and fun mental stimulation exercises. We’re really just looking for a wonderful family companion.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:	There are many different ways to handle it. I generally use mild verbal corrections (like uhn-uhn) in conjunction with not giving them a reward for the behavior. Sometimes purposefully ignoring the behavior is appropriate as long as we praise the right behavior once it’s presented (think like in the case of begging). If you have questions about my training techniques or background please just ask. It’s easy to talk verbally about them, then write about them.
Discipline:	It’s a lot more re-directing to appropriate behaviors. But discipline does come into play if it’s something that I actively see happening (not something that happened in the past). An example would be: If my dad killed a rabbit. That’s not a behavior I want to reinforce, so I give a firm “no,” (our own body posturing sometimes comes into play here) make sure the rabbit gets taken away and then re-direct the dog to do something I want the dog to do (something he can be rewarded for). Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:	In the house

Who is this dog for?	Our family: our son is 15 and daughter is 17.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	We had a Lakeland terrier for years, so sweet, but our son got us interested in corgis because he loves their look. We have researched the breed online. They just make us happy to look at them, short legs and fluffy bodies.

People at home during the day?	We are all gone typically for 6 or do hours each day. Summers are different of course, and I can often come home at noon to let the dog out. But generally, no one is home for 6+ hours each day.
Where would dog eat?	We would likely have bowls just off the kitchen, where are all of the meal time activity would take place with our family. During the day, there would be food bowls at the lower level.
Where would dog sleep:	Likely they would sleep In our sons room, or on the landing of our second floor, where there is plenty of room for a bed.
Play & exercise:	We have a large backyard, and are often outside during the warmer months. We also enjoy walking, and would plan to walk the dog, but generally most of its activity would be in the backyard. We also like to play with our dogs, so would spend time inside playing and interacting.

Who is this dog for?	We are moving into a pet friendly apartment starting May 20th and my boyfriend always wanted a corgi so we thought this would be a good time for us to adopt one.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	My boyfriend loves corgis and it's his favorite breed and we are moving into a pet friendly apartment soon so we wanted to adopt a dog. We both grew up with dogs and would really love to be able to adopt one. We think that corgis are also very friendly and sociable which is what we are looking for as well. However if it became a pattern of behavior then I would take the necessary course of action to correct the mistake while it is still an early learned behavior.

I would use my voice to try and stop the unwanted behavior. I would take away any toys they have and avoid giving them any attention while they are misbehaving.

Why do you want a Pembroke?	I grew up taking care of larger dogs, including german shepherds, labradors, and bernese mountain dogs, however, these breeds would not work in an apartment, especially as my current apartment has a size limit for dogs. I am used to the personality of a large dog. Through research and interacting with corgis, they seem to embody that large dog spirit, in a smaller body. My sister owns a corgi mix, who I adore and love to play with. She is a sassy dog, who loves to play for hours, whine about her food and anything else she thinks inconveniences her, and then turn into an absolute couch potato. I would love to own a dog who is even remotely similar to that.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	Walks, playing in the yard, relaxing on the couch. I am fairly open for any level of activity.

If the situation continued, I would try and figure out the root cause of the issue, and see if it can be fixed at the source. If its something like chewing, give them an alternative chew toy, or use something to make what they're chewing taste bad. I will also contact a trainer or vet as necessary, if I feel I am out of my depth in a situation.
