Why do you want a Pembroke?	I have read and watched videos about the breed and liked many of the qualities I encountered. I love that they are called "a big dog in a small dog's body". I also like the fact that they are large, fast, and capable enough to play with any other size dog but still small enough to curl up on the couch after.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	I have many large parks around my house that I would like to bring my dog. Also, my parents have two dogs that are both certified therapy dogs and I would like to try to get my dog certified as well.

Why do you want a Pembroke?	I have done research and I love their energy and playfulness. I think they are adorable and I have researched them. I currently have a dog that sheds really bad so that does not bother me. I take my dog for lots of walks and I have a huge fenced in backyard. We are a family of four that is home a lot and love dogs! We had a chow for 14 years and she passed and our life was empty so we adopted Lizzie who is now 6.

Who is this dog for?	This corgi will be my companion in graduate school. I am a senior graduating from Purdue University, and I will be moving to St. Louis in August to start graduate school. I grew up on a farm with corgis, so I am looking forward to having my own companion at school with me.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	Growing up and currently, we have two pembroke corgis. They have brought so much joy into my life! They are playful enough to play outside with us and hangout, but also snuggle up and chill at the end of a long hard day. I love that each individual dog has such a unique and loyal personality- they truly become family members. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the breed and I am looking forward to having my own. I have done research on the breed and having corgis we know we need to keep an eye on their weight to avoid added stress to their joints!
Activities planned with Pembroke:	Moving to St. Louis there are many dog park and there is Forest Park in my neighborhood. Forest Park is a 1,000 acre park in the middle of the city. I enjoy staying outside and being active so I look forward to exercising my corgi on a regular basis and playing with them in the park. Our corgis will play all day but also will sit at our feet when we are watching a movie or doing work – and I plan on doing these same things with mine!

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:	When we were training our corgis, they were fast learners and quickly learned the word “no”. Once they learned it, we would use a stern “no” to steer them away from chewing things they weren’t supposed to. For potty training, we used a crate in the beginning and would always take them out right when they woke up and after they ate. We never used any physical discipline and if they did a good thing, they were rewarded.
Discipline:	Again, we taught them the word “no”. If they didn’t listen to that then calling their name sternly usually got their attention. For example, if they had gotten into the trash we would scold them with a “no” and their name and then make them lay down and stay for 5-10 mins. Again, we never used physical discipline on them because they are our family members.

Where would dog sleep:	My corgi would sleep in my bedroom with me in their own bed on the ground next to my bed. Corgis have such little legs and long backs it is dangerous to have them sleep in the bed with you in case they want to jump down (they may hurt themselves!!).
Play & exercise:	I plan on taking them to dog parks and on walks in Forest Park as I mentioned earlier. Outside exercise will be about 45mins to an hour everyday, but will get an additional hour to hour and a half of play inside.

Why do you want a Pembroke?	I want to adopt a corgi because I love the personalities of the dog! They are smart, active, they are the perfect for our current home. I love the look of a corgi, like they look like happy dogs. You can see their emotions on their face which is endearing. I've had nothing but good experiences with corgis. My boyfriend and I recently went to a corgi meet up at a brewery in Minneapolis that was to fundraise for Midwest Animal Rescue and the Corgi Racing Society.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	We would take our corgi to the dog parks and to dog friendly breweries and places that are dog friendly. We will bring our corgi up to our family's cabin, and to any family event. There are lots of dogs within our extended families so socializing with those dogs is important. We want our cogri to be with us as much as possible. As we go on walks, hikes, up to the cabin, on the boat, this dog is a member of the family.

Who is this dog for?	James is graduating from college and is looking to get a small dog to keep him company! I think a corgi would be a perfect fit for him and his lifestyle. I want it to be a graduation gift and a rescue instead of from a breeder.

Other preferences:	Good with other dogs, as we live in a neighborhood. And good with children, as we have grandchildren. They live out of state, but i dont want to worry about any aggression towards children. I know the herding instinct is strong so I would instruct the kids not to run unless they want to be nipped on the heel! I would like a corgi that likes to ride in the car. Who is this dog for?	Pembroke is for me.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	I do love the breed, the look, the personality. We lost our 14 year old red and white pembroke in November. I miss her. She was a little bossy, super sweet with people. Her loud bark startled small kids, but she was very good with them. She was a constant companion. Her fur blow outs were a challenge, but she always looked great after grooming! She loved to take walks and play. Corgi crazies took over twice a day, when we would play with toys or do our obstacle play.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	We would go for daily walks, play with toys and generally hang out throught the day.

Play & exercise:	Corgis pretty much tell you when they want to play and typically we have always walked our dogs twice a day. We will have toys for playing and I'd love to set up weave poles and obstacle courses for play time, and maybe at a dog park if I know the other dogs.
