 Myself. I lost my 10 year old Pembroke this past December due to cardiac issues.
I think I'm ready to adopt now

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I do love the breed, I had a Pembroke for 10 years, raised him from a puppy. Brought him home from a breeder in Champagne IL. His name was Ein, a wonderful dog. Could be very strong willed, but was exceptionally smart, The smartest dog I've had. I have owned a Golden Retriever in the past and a Labrador Retriever, the Corgi was very teachable, loved playing fetch and with balls. I really bonded with him.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Walking, playing fetch with sticks and balls, letting him play with big beach balls, so much fun. Agility classes are available not too far away from me.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		A firm "No"showing the dog the problem, not waiting until hours later, taking care of it right away. Using startle techniques to change behaviors, shaking pennies in a can to startle away from the bad behavior. Try to redirect the energy.

 I do work during the day. I do believe in crate training, After I can trust him not to destroy things I will let him have the run of the house, If he is an adult. I do have someone who can come in during the day to take out a younger dog if needed.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 After living a long life of 13+ years my beloved terrier mix, Sabrina, died almost a year ago. She cannot be replaced, but I'm ready to move on. I have always loved Corgis. They are cute and are active and energetic, which I prefer. I don't have any personal experience with Corgis other than friends that have them and randomly running into them when out-and-about when their out for a walk with their owners. I have done plenty of "Googling" trying to learn as much as I can about Corgis.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 My previous dog, Sabrina, was a very active and energetic terrier mix that loved a lot of physical activity and attention. I am an outdoor person and active. I would do a lot of similar activities like I did with Sabrina: dog parks, jogging, playing fetch, etc. I live in an apartment so I always took Sabrina for at least 3 walks a day. I loved and miss my long walks with Sabrina. It was good exercise for her and myself.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this: 		I would use a disciplinary tone of voice and direct eye contact to let the dog know that they made a mistake, and try to get them to understand what that mistake was.

Discipline:
 I would use a disciplinary tone of voice (not yelling). Positive reinforcement (reward with treats or positive tone of voice for fixed/corrected behavior). Even though a dog can't talk, I believe that a lot of vocal interaction and loving physical contact from the owner builds trust for the dog. I would never hit a dog to discipline. That only creates additional problems and trust issues for the dog.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
 In my home/apartment. Otherwise, outside for walks, playing, exercise, etc.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I think a pembroke welsh corgi would be a wonderful addition to my home. This breed is known for it's cute, playful, and energetic behavior and I'm looking for a dog with those qualities. My boyfriend adopted our 2 year old pup from the humane society when she was a puppy and she is a sweetheart. We would like to bring a dog somewhere between 1 and 3 years old so that our pup will have a sister close in age with her. I've done my research on this breed and I do believe a corgi would be great for our small family.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I love the temperament of the corgi. They are a great mix of sweet, smart, energetic, fun, and a little sassy. My only experience with corgis is at the dog daycare I used to work at. They were all great dogs and I fell in love with them. I have done some research on the breed. I know they need a firm hand, positive reinforcement, and like to be kept busy (not left to their own devices all day).

Activities planned with Pembroke:
 Walking, biking, play, play dates w/ friends w/ dogs, daycare. I would also love to try agility training, if the dog seemed to enjoy it.

I have friends with dogs that we would meet up with to play/socialize sometimes. I also have a friend that owns a dog daycare that she would go to 1-2 times per week.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
 I have always loved their spirit and intelligence. They are compact companion dogs with spunk and character to spare. I typically accost anyone walking a corgi and barrage them with a million questions. All the owners are quite laid back. Yes i have researched to breed. I really enjoy the mind of herding dogs. My best dog was my german shepherd. She was a huge part of my life right up to the end. She was confident and cheeky, intelligent and funny. It was a beautiful relationship.
