Why do you want a Pembroke?	My grandparents owned Corgi’s and I have been around them. My whole family including me are from England and Corgi’s are very traditional to me. I am looking for a companion to be active in walking , but also accompanying me to work. They will be my companion. I have consulted AKC websites for research, though as stated I am familiar .
Activities planned with Pembroke:	Traveling, to work, walking and relaxing. I have degenerative spinal arthritis and have had several surgeries, possibly more planned. Thus I cannot handle puppies and would like older dogs. I do walk continuously to keep active and rehab.

Like I said, Heather has been wanting a Corgi for a very long time, and we were waiting until one of the cats died to get a dog, so we didn't have too many animals. Now we have space. Who is this dog for?	It's for us, but mostly Heather. She's wanted a Corgi for ever. We had two cats, and it's just the two of us, so we couldn't take on more animals until one passed away. So one of our cats had to be put down a week ago, due to a cancer. Now we have room in the house, our other cat was adopted from a home that had two dogs and he was fine with them.

Why do you want a Pembroke?	For starters they’re adorable. My dog Zeus (beagle) passed away in November from cancer after 11 years. He was always fascinated with them. I started asking questions to my various neighbors who own them and just felt they’d be a really neat dog to have. I like that they are large enough to be hearty (not too fragile), but small enough to be easily accepted in apartments, travel, etc. From what I’ve read about the breed, we also seem to have a similar temperament.

Why do you want a Pembroke?	I want to adopt a Pembroke Welsh Corgi because I have always been in love with the breed. I think that Corgi's personalities are so unique and would be an amazing dog to raise on my own. Now that I am settling down in one city and living on my own, I would really like to have a dog that is known for its affection and alertness before I move to Milwaukee in the summer. I have done research on this breed over the past couple of years trying to convince my parents to get one, but I think now is the perfect time for me to adopt!

Why do you want a Pembroke?	Research leads me to believe the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is the perfect breed for me because of his core characteristics– outgoing, energetic, social, a bit stubborn, curious and affectionate. Brian and I are active, always out and above exploring our beautiful city by foot or by car and we would love nothing more for a Corgi to join us on our adventures.

Who is this dog for?	Us! We would love to add a corgi to our family as a pet.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	Before my husband and I were together I had a corgi who I got from a breeder as a puppy. I loved this breed! He was so smart and easy to train plus he had a wonderful temperament. Always wanted to be around people, loved riding in the car, and was great with strangers. We have always talked about getting a corgi again because we love the breed so much.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	I work from home so most days he/she would be out with me but mainly lounging. We have a nice fenced in yard for the dog to run in whenever, but we also have close access to walking trails, which we would definitely take advantage of when the weather is nice. It's important to us to train our pup so we would love to play games and train him/her to do some tricks. I also have though about agility classes for fun! We also like to travel to visit family so the pup would come along with us! My family likes to go boating on the river so in the summertime that would be a fun activity for the dog.

Trying to redirect if there is a chewing incident, praising for using the bathroom outside, and of course giving treats for good behavior. Though our old dog really showed you if he did something wrong, like chewing up the remote so he knew he did bad.

Also, the best time to let the dog know they did a mistake is while the mistake is happening, if possible. Otherwise, the dog could be confused. I read an article that says: “Any type of correction must be enforced only at the time of the infraction. This means you should verbally correct your dog while he is in the act of grabbing your shoe for a good chewing, or during the destruction. The BEST time to scold is when he is grabbing your shoe — the dog will know you’re disciplining him for interacting with the shoe at all, which should be off-limits to him.“

Why do you want a Pembroke?	I have been in love with the corgi breed as long as I've know dogs. I grew up on a hobby farm so we were only allowed to have Labs/Springers.
