Why do you want a Pembroke?	They are very smart dogs that are also social, affectionate and adaptable. I like that they are playful and have unique personalities. I prefer the size of their bread, the general athleticism of the bread and shorter coat. I've had dogs that shed a lot, so that does not bother me.

Discipline:	Depending on the behavior I would use a stern voice to distract the dog from the said behavior, would remove toys if being territorial and ignore the unwanted behavior, I would never hit or abuse a dog and do not think banishing them to their crate or giving them a time out if effective in my experience. I'd use positive enforcement to encourage wanted behaviors.

Who is this dog for?	He or she would be for my husband and I. Also, for my 24 year old daughter who is home on weekends from college.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	As I explained on the previous page, our Corgi mix just passed away. We are ready to give another Corgi a loving home. I have never had a corgi before him, but he was so well behaved and kind. In his honor, we would love to give a new corgi a home. Yes, I know corgis are stubborn sometimes. They are very protective, voice their opinion often, active but very kind. I did a lot of research on Corgis before we got our Corgi mix 12 years ago (that just passed away). And yes, he could be a firecracker at times.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	We would take he or she to the park, the dog park, on walks and play with them in our big back yard. Play with toys also and car rides. What ever they required.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:	First I would tell him or her that it was okay, things happen. I would do this as long as he or she did not do the mistake purposely For example, our senior Corgi, before he died, accidentally went to the bathroom in the house (not his fault, he never does this). We petted him and told him it was okay. Then we cleaned it up (husband and I). We are pet lovers.

Why do you want a Pembroke?	Love the breed! Lived with the breed! We went through a very destructive period of puppy issues with our Finn and loved him thru it. He matured into a wonderful dog. I miss his barking (I know, really?), his ultra sensitivity to sounds, his cRaZy behavior, his water play/run and fetch … I just miss his face.

Who is this dog for?	For myself.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	I have always had an obsession with Pembroke Welsh Corgis and since I moved after my graduation, I believe I am ready to take care of a corgi emotionally and financially. To be entirely honest, I first fell in love with their cute bouncy butts! I love how they are great companions for their owners and can provide emotional support. They also have their own unique characters that stand out from other breeds. I have a few friends who owned corgis and I have always loved hanging out with them and taking their corgis on walks when the owners are not free. Since I have decided to rescue a corgi of my own, I have researched extensively about their breeds, character traits, possible health issues, and so on.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	I would love to go on walks with my Pembroke in my neighborhood and hopefully find other Pembroke meetups in my area for play dates. I also love to play tug with him/her and cuddle with them at night when we are both relaxing. I also would like to make bath time a fun time and love to pamper my Pembroke, especially on his/her gotcha day with doggie ice cream. I would also love to take him/her to obedience classes and other training classes as needed so he/she could be the best cutest Pembroke!

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:	If the Pembroke makes a mistake, I would sternly tell him/her about what happened and why I do not like it. I might also not give him/her treats for that day so s/he knows that s/he made a mistake. I also would find out WHY the Pembroke made that certain mistake: is it mostly my error such that did I place the work papers in a place that s/he can reach. Then, I would make sure that all paper products are not in plain sight or can be easily reached by my Pembroke to ensure his/her safety. I will also inform this instance to his/her obedience class teacher so appropriate steps can be taken.

Who is this dog for?	This dog will be our family dog, for my husband Thaddeus and myself.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	We are interested in adopting a Pembroke Welsh Corgi because we believe that the general temperament of this breed, as well as their size, would be a great fit for our lifestyle. We live near Uptown Minneapolis in an apartment, and love to spend time at home but also enjoy going out for walks and light recreation around town. We have been looking to add a dog to our family since we got married last summer, and having finally settled in the Twin Cities, we are excited for the chance to give a rescued dog a loving home. We have both grown up with multiple dogs and cats, and understand that pet ownership involves a commitment to the pet and to lifelong training (of both the dog and ourselves!). We have researched the breed and understand that they may require some training, especially around barking, and are prepared to train with positive reinforcement and treats.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	Walking and playing (we live adjacent to the Minneapolis Greenway to accommodate frequent walks), and we live in a pet friendly community with lots of other dogs, so there will be socialization opportunities. About a mile down the path is also a fenced off-leash dog park, that we would love to take a dog to so long as it was comfortable with that kind of experience.

Who is this dog for?	Us. We had two Corgies for about 13 years. One was a rescue one was from a breeder. We lost them 6 months a part a little over a year ago. One to a brain tumor and the other had cancer when he was two and had diabetes for the last 4 years of his life. He started having seizures and the Dr thought she cancer came back and went to his brain. I was physically sick for a month after losing our second. We loved them and gave them the best care possible.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	We love Corgies and love the personalities they have. Big dog in a small body.
