Why do you want a Pembroke?	We had a corgi in our lives for almost 13 years named Sid. He was my best friend and we loved him. My son was only 4 when Sid passed. WE are considering having another dog in our lives and the Pembroke welsh corgi is such a lovable breed.

Who is this dog for?	This adoption is for our household.
Why do you want a Pembroke?	I've wanted to adopt a corgi for well over a decade. I fell in love with the breed after first meeting one as a teenager at a dog show. I was stunned at how capable this little breed was on the agility courses. On top of being an adorable breed, they are typically very intelligent, energetic, and playful. Although they can be a bit noisy at times, barking and the likes is not a bother to us. I have researched the breed on my own over the internet, by reading books and magazines, and speaking with corgi owners at pet expos/dog shows.
Activities planned with Pembroke:	We would take him/her out for at least one long walk each day(1-3 miles, as that is what our other dog requires), daily games such as fetch/tug of war, daily training for simple tricks. There are several dog parks in our area that we frequent with our other dog on weekends to keep her exercised and socialized. We also go camping and traveling frequently throughout the summer and like to take our pets with us (we NEVER leave our pets unattended in a vehicle).

If the corgi confuses an non-play item for a toy, for example, we would remove the item and bring an appropriate toy for the corgi to play with, then reward the corgi for doing so.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:	If the mistake involves messing in the house, after a verbal correction the dog would go out on a walk or in the yard and mess would get cleaned up without the dog present.
Discipline:	A deep growl type scolding then remove them to a sit and stay "time out" location. I set a timer with a loud ring and they have learned they need to stay until it rings; time out varies by crime 10 to 30 minutes and no one can talk to them to or visit during the time out. They don't like it but our first corgi, Maggie, would do something naughty as a youngster and then go sit in the time out spot and look to me to set the timer! Luckily corgis are pretty good dogs.

Why do you want a Pembroke?	I want to adopt a Pembroke Welsh Corgi because of their personalities. They are very smart and goofy. I love how cute they are and how they are able to figure things out. Although I've never had experiences with the breed, I have been following the breed for years. I have done research and I believe Pembrokes are the breed for me.
